Well if that's the case then you can't even stream trailers or anything if this comes to light.
Plus if they do this for gaming videos then it should be true for films and music... etc.
I just don't see it pulling through as even after a year... I've not exactly noticed any action (minus the people behind the user "Conjopi" from YouTube...)

It is true for films and music.

If you do not own the intellectual property, and do not have a written release or license to exhibit the property in question... it is illegal for you to do so... Movies, music, video games, television...

Trailers are a little different... especially since the companies are posting them and allowing you to link to their streaming service.

The companies should enforce their rights... if they lose their profits, then we have to pay more for games.

For the record... the video game tournaments (the big ones) have already secured the licenses for exhibition... they are already paying for it

Okay, I understand that... though there is one thing...
If said person has a legitimate copy. Then I don't see how companies can retaliate when their product is discontinued, plus some might fair better by visually seeing what one person has to do to progress, like guides, walkthroughs and LPs.
Personally I don't think it's right if the person is making money from it... However if they are doing so for the fun of it then that should be fine... provided the game is around 10-20 years old or more.

I agree... Current copyright has nothing to do with what the founding fathers had in mind.

Exactly, if anything copyright has been enforced too excessively in my view.
In fact, that explains why there is few in terms of something new and unique as everything can look the same... since it's all built around similar equipment.
