So, has anyone here got the PS Vita?
I went through a spending binge and bought the vita and tons of accessories. It should arrive tomorrow, so I’m curious if I’m alone here. I’ve been seeing the videos, and it’s an incredible piece of hardware. It’s the most powerful handheld out there, with more combined RAM than the PS3 and XBOC 360!! ! (512 RAM + 128 VRAM against ps3: 256 ram + 256vram against 360: 512 dynamic ram).

Also, I can download the games from the psnetwork and not pay import taxes and such…

So far I got the console, a 32gb memory card and the following games: uncharted, f1 2011 and metal gear solid HD collection.

Come on… someone else must’ve jumped on the Vita train. What do you think of it?

The left joystick annoys me near the d-pad; I hit it accidently.

Best two games to gate are Rayman Origin's and Gravity Rush.

Other than that you will need to buy PSP games off the PSN network to play.

Netflix on that OLED screen is nice too.

Definitly getting Gravity Rush/daze. Rayman is not my kind of game, so I'll pass on that one. But I'll get the green blob platform thingie :D

I want the Dokuro game and the demon ink as well... they look nice.

Amazing, but FAR too pricey.
I mean 250-300 for just the system, $80-100memory cards (which you need a lot of space in), and then like 50$ games. WTF.

So like 450$ if you wanna really do anything with it.

demon ink game has a demo on the PSN network. It is nice, but I imagine from the demo; it's a gimmicky and short game; but, I could be wrong. Try its demo first.

The thing that annoyed me about the Vita was the proprietary memory card. Talk about corporal greed! I do like my original PSP and I sometimes I use it on the go with all my loaded emulators and roms. But I believe the Vita is more designed for those who want a close to home console experience on the go. I prefer the DS as I believe its better utilized for portable gaming. I might be getting the 3DS XL, but I'm disappointed that once again its missing a 2nd analog! Not vital, but it would of hardly broke the bank to include one. I think it was a move to keep early adopters of the circle pad pro happy

I'm really not that impressed by it. I enjoyed my psp but the fact its not backwards compatible, is so expensive and simply has less video games makes it appeal to me less. I'm also less into video games than I was 4-5 years ago. I think I'll just buy the 3ds and be done this gen for handhelds.

Sumioni: Demon Arts is a go for me. I have nothing against short games... Sometimes they're all I want, actually. Good call.

I can't get into 3DS. Although I know they hhave tons of games, I think Nintendo's hardware lacks way too much. Not saying the 3DS is bad, it's just not for me.

Proprietary memory cards is bad, but I just went crazy and got myself a 32gb card. Guess it'll last me a while.

And PSP compatibility is an issue. I'd be pissed if I had a psp colletion... but I never got into the PSP (Vita is the 1st handheld I considered), so I'll just buy a bunch from the PSN.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback. So far everybody thinks it's great, but it's expensive and need more games. I couldn't agree more.

While I'm not going to engage in the ret*d industry trend of considering the Vita dead, despite it being out for less than six months, I'm not going to purchase one anytime soon. I think it has a lot of potential, and I'm sure it'll get better in time, but as it stands, it doesn't have very many games yet, and is still priced at $250, which is way too high for me. As much as I love my 3DS, I wouldn't have bought it at its original $250 price point(and didn't). As a psp owner, expensive memory cards are nothing new to me. More than anything, I'd rather wait for the system to get more games, so even if the price was more reasonable, I'd still hold off on getting one. As I said though, I'm sure time will remedy most, if not all of my misgivings, and I wish Sony the best of luck with their handheld.

For sure, graphical power hasn't been Nintendo's strong suit for a long time now. I just prefer the library as it offers fun and interactive games that you could only get on a handheld. As I say, the Vita is more geared for the close to home console experience, so it just depends on your taste and needs.

With compatibility, I think its just because they were no longer going to use the UMD format. so they tried to distance the new console from it. Also a UMD drive would of took up too much room for a soon to be dead format. The original PSP is still great, especially with custom firmware. Over here you can get a preowned one for less than £50 which is worth it in my book.

Don't worry about the library, even the 3DS library was weak when it first came out. I think it will be well supported with games in due time.

I have the Vita, but didn't play it much until I got Disgaea 3, which I love. It was difficult to find where I live, and not available through PSN for some stupid reason. I also play the Persona games from time to time. I bought Uncharted when I got the console, just to get a feel for the graphics abilities of the console, but I don't much care for it (the game, that is).

I wanted one but have found a lot of the games I wanted are actually on PSP and there's very little new stuff coming to Vita that I do want. 3DS on the other hand has a steady building library of software that I like.

Yeah , I bought PSP game: Castlevania, Rondo of Blood off the PSN network and unlocked castlevania: Symphony of the Night on it. It's really nice. like you get two games for one. I'd recommend people do that too.

I like the cross platform online play and the use of pictures to personalize your battles in select games. The technology is amazing. However...the cost for memory is what keeps me from getting it.

The PSP was a tad expensive but seemed well worth it. When the price for manufacturing goes down and the price does as well I will buy the Vita. The LittleBigPlanet Vita videos I've seen are crazy!

I am just worried about what happens if the touch screen stops working...
