Hey all,

I'm going to buy Arma II : Combined Operations on steam tomorrow and apply the DayZ mod to it. Do any of you play it? Anybody feel like showing me the ropes? I've played the Arma II free version so I know how to shoot, move, fly helicoptors, parachute and all that jazz.

My steam ID is Tsproggy if you would like to add me.

Here are some games I play:

Guild Wars 2
Team Fortress 2
Left 4 Dead 2
Terraria
Magicka
Arma II : Combined Operations / DayZ Mod
Minecraft
Star Wars The Old Republic

I'll usually try any free to play game at least once. I have a mic and a webcam for communication too if you're into that sort of thing. I'm American by the way.

DayZ is awful now. I stopped playing it awhile ago.

you need to find a closed server or one where there is a stable common population,

the issue is that it has become so popular that many of the more mainstream servers are nothing but grief central.

Oh no :(,

Well, I can always host my own server and have it be an invite only system/reference. I have a 50 mbit connection and spare computers I could dedicate it on.

I wanted to try DayZ, but don't feel like buying Arma II.

Maybe when they release the standalone version...

Your Arma 2 Cd key would get Perma-banned from the hive server along with your server. The creator of the mod is a douche.

I played day Z with a few friends from work. The game is okay it just has a incredibly high leveling curve. Being able to know how to loot corpses and the differences between the running stances. It really doesn't offer in the way of tutorials unless you go on the net and really do some research. It really takes advantage of the confusing mechanics of arma.
