for me, if I didn't have video games, I couldn't cope with the ongoing stress in my life. it helps me get away from stress, calms me down, and makes me happy.

the games that make me most happy, are usually ones that feed my creativity, or satisfy my desire for power and weapons. lots and lots of weapons.... like guns, homeing missiles, flamethowers, and icecream trucks. anyway, other then that, Gmod allows me to be both creative, and violent. not to mention it's usefullness for roleplay,
if running around with a bunch of anime chicks and, doing stuff, counts as roleplay.

Twisted Metal makes me very happy, as it lets me live out my second favorite fantasy, cars with loads of weapons bolted on.
I got through alot of stressful moments by playing video games. althought many stressful moments involved people hurting me, but when those moments are over, some good videos let me take my anger out and feel better. with out hurting "real" people.
so, tell me, what games make you most happy?
which ones help you cope with life?
do you take your anger out in games?
if so which ones help most?

Sure does. The sports ones make me feel like I am part of a team; any shooter relives any strees that I may have in life.

Some are better than others at it. Been playing Saints Row the Third lately, and it's definitely much more fun with a friend.

Thing is, while it's fun and goofy and wacky and over the top destruction and action and hilarity, that's all it is. Games with much more depth in one way or another, whether that be plot or story or characters or the world as a whole, tend to fulfill me a bit more. Fallout 3 and New Vegas, GTA: San Andreas, Pokemon Yellow and Gold, Donkey Kong 64, Kirby 64, Super Mario Galaxy, Trace Memory, Hotel Dusk: Room 215, Metal Gear Solid 3, Killer7, No More Heroes 1 and 2, NieR, and Okami have all been very good. Zelda: Majora's Mask, The Wind Waker, and Skyward Sword have all been particularly special to me. Not all of those are necessarily full of the same amount of depth, but still have very unique things about them that I really like or think about a lot.

No, I am a resilient man and take care of myself.

Hell, I don't even need dumbells to exercise, I got my own bodyweights.

Sometimes playing games helps, as long as the odds in the game are in my favor thanks to cheat codes or slider alterations. If I wanted to get my butt kicked, I could just as easily go into the real world for that.

I love Twisted Metal. I was just playing Head On on PSP yesterday. Although I haven't played the new TM due to not having a PS3 right now (long story).

They do help me, but I find that as I get older, they help less and less. One series I can count on to cheer me up is the Ace Attorney series. I wanted to be a detective at one point, so playing those games is endless fun for me. I also love fighting games like Street Fighter and Virtua Fighter. I mostly play RPGs and fighters. One game I just started playing is Double Dragon Neon. I'm a huge DD fan (with the exception of 2 and 3) so I had to buy it. Bad part is, the game is over in less than 2 hours. :(

When I play COD2 and smack people in the head with rifle butts I giggle like Loreena Bobbit in a sausage factory.

It sure does help me cope with life. PS Home on the PS3 has given me an actual social outlet and I've met a lot great friends on PSN. I also enjoy my God of War Saga I've been recently playing.

Just walk around and find people who like the same games you do. I made a couple of Street Fighter-playing friends once because I noticed somebody's avatar had a Street Fighter shirt on. :)

Actually, I haven't been playing video games as much as I used to. Whenever I played a game for too long, I became anxious and aggressive, which obviously isn't a good thing. This happened whenever I tried playing something like Persona 4 or Street Fighter 4.

Hm, mostly Zelda, Elder Scrolls (especially skyrim), sometimes minecraft for 360

Skyrim because it's like medieval reality (my favorite kind aside from cyber-punk).
Plus, I've always thought swords were more civilized than guns. :P

Sometimes, although I tend to not feed that emotion (or most others for that matter)
because it would be very bad in my case.

GTA used to help alot with that, other than that, nothing I guess.
