I love sports, and I love video games. So why not talk about them here?

My first sports VG I fell in love with was Tecmo Bowl for the NES; it was easy to play, and plus, who wouldn't want to play Bo Jackson in that game?

The modern sports games are almost life like in a way...... now you feel like you are part of the players and the team!

Modern basketball games are where a bunch of my number crunching abilities are used. I usually just make a bunch of custom legends teams and players based on existing information (IE: stats from previous games, player comparisions) and put them into the game just to see who would win.

Since my former love of pro basketball is a major stressor of mine, I usually alter the sliders in my team's favor so that it's impossible for them to beat me. The way I see it, in reality, it happens far too often. (hense it being a former love)

Another fave of mine is Blades of Steel... it was the first hockey VG I ever fell in love with.

I love Pong and that's an early simulation of tennis!

I don't play them often, but do enjoy some sports games from time to time. As most of them are quite simple in gameplay while still being fun, it can make for a relaxing game session.

Some of the best old school sports games IMO are as follows: Pong (I already mentioned that), Punchout, Ice Hockey, NBA jam, Super Mario Kart, Bases Loaded II, Mario Golf and Sprintmaster

Mario Kart also kinda qualifies under a sports game........... the 64 iteration is the best one. Aah, memories.....
