Ahh, the nostalgia. Anything from Capcom or Tecmo NES games is usually amazingly good. Konami and Technos(river city ransom, double dragon) did some damn good NES music too. Here you will find the complete soundtracks for Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2.

When I was a kid, I used to take an oldass tape recorder(one that's like the size of a book) and put it next to the TV speakers to record music from my videogames so I could listen to it later... My brothers thought this was extremely weird and hilarious, and they took pleasure in making as much noise as possible to ruin my recordings.
So there is far too much amazing videogame music to post it all here, but for anyone who's interested, check out...
Anything from the entire Megaman series is pretty much guaranteed awesome music
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Cross
Brave Fencer Musashi
TimeSplitters(the entire series)
Double Dragon 1-3
Little Nemo in Dream Land
Man, I could sit and listen to this stuff all friggin' day. It's amazing what they could do with a simple 8 bit sound chip.
Also, if anyone's interested, there's a site called Zophar's Domain that has all kinds of tools and whatnot for videogames. Like, you can find tons of emulators there and possibly programs used for hacking game ROMs. I'm not totally sure, as I've mostly only ever used it for emulators... They have videogame soundtracks there, in really small files, like, they're the original sound files ripped directly from the cartridge. You can also find plugins for media players to allow you to play those files, or you can download a player meant for those types of files. The player I use is called Meridian Advance. And here's the site: www.zophar.net
