On the front page, he displays a slightly-remade version of Wing Commander... some of the best game music ever made!
hmm... his site seems down...

Ahh, the nostalgia. Anything from Capcom or Tecmo NES games is usually amazingly good. Konami and Technos(river city ransom, double dragon) did some damn good NES music too. Here you will find the complete soundtracks for Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2.

When I was a kid, I used to take an oldass tape recorder(one that's like the size of a book) and put it next to the TV speakers to record music from my videogames so I could listen to it later... My brothers thought this was extremely weird and hilarious, and they took pleasure in making as much noise as possible to ruin my recordings.

So there is far too much amazing videogame music to post it all here, but for anyone who's interested, check out...

Anything from the entire Megaman series is pretty much guaranteed awesome music
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Cross
Brave Fencer Musashi
TimeSplitters(the entire series)
Double Dragon 1-3
Little Nemo in Dream Land

Man, I could sit and listen to this stuff all friggin' day. It's amazing what they could do with a simple 8 bit sound chip.

Also, if anyone's interested, there's a site called Zophar's Domain that has all kinds of tools and whatnot for videogames. Like, you can find tons of emulators there and possibly programs used for hacking game ROMs. I'm not totally sure, as I've mostly only ever used it for emulators... They have videogame soundtracks there, in really small files, like, they're the original sound files ripped directly from the cartridge. You can also find plugins for media players to allow you to play those files, or you can download a player meant for those types of files. The player I use is called Meridian Advance. And here's the site: www.zophar.net

This may take a while, but at least I'll have a few hours spent listening to good music. :P

First there are pretty much entire soundtracks that I like(at least 75% of their soundtracks):

Full Final Fantasy 6 OST
Full Chrono Trigger OST
Music of video games - Kirby's Adventure
Zelda 2: Adventure of Link OST
Full Super Mario Galaxy OST (2 is in there, as well, but haven't listened to it much)
Full Shadow of the Colossus OST
Full NieR OST

As for other individual songs, this may take quite a while...

Killer7 - Blackburn
Killer7 - Harman's room
Killer7 - Where angels play
No More Heroes - Vioectrolysis
No More Heroes - Mach 13 Elephant Explosion
No More Heroes - Pleather for breakfast
No More Heroes - Rocket Surgeon
No More Heroes - We are finally cowboys
No More Heroes - No more NMH
NMH2 - Beam katana chronicles 2
NMH2 - Psycho soldier
NMH2 - Twilight
NMH2 - Jasper Batt Jr.
Shadows of the Damned - Main theme
Shadows of the Damned - Not had his fill
Shadows of the Damned - Broken bones, broken promises
Lollipop Chainsaw - Killabilly
Metal Gear Solid - The best is yet to come
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes - Grey Fox
MGS3: Snake Eater - Ocelot youth
Fallout: New Vegas - Caesar's Legion
Halo Reach - Pillar of Autumn
Halo 3 ODST - Deference for darkness
Shadow the hedgehog - Lost impact
Paper Mario 2 - Shadow Queen
Metroid Prime - Metroid Prime battle
MP2 - Dark Samus
MP3 - AU 313
Banjo-Tooie - Grunty Industries
Banjo-Tooie - Hag 1
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bols - Banjoland
Donkey Kong 64 - King K. Rool
Okami - Ryoshima coast
Okami - The emporer of eternal darkness
Zelda: Wind Waker - Great Sea
Zelda: Wind Waker - Tower of the gods
Zelda: Wind Waker - Earth Temple
Zelda: Wind Waker - Puppet Ganon
Zelda: Skyward Sword - Ghirahim
Zelda: Skyward Sword - Skyview Temple
Zelda: Skyward Sword - Lanayru Mining Facility
Zelda: Skyward Sword - The Imprisoned

Obviously didn't include every last single piece of music that I like or the list would go on forever, but I feel this is a good chunk and representation of it.

I just noticed the above was a link - I was going to suggest the awesome High Voltage SID Collection, but there it was! Enough awesome music to last a lifetime!

Classic. So awesome.

Another classic, even with the limited musical options of the Gameboy and NES, they made something memorable for Tetris.

And now for something more modern.

I love visting the hub world of Shamar in Sonic Unleashed, just so I could sit there while listening to this song.
