1: Baldur's Gate 2 (first one was mediocre)
2: KOTOR 1/2
3: Halo 1/2 (3/ODST butchered the story for me)
4: World of Warcraft/Burning Crusade (sucked after Wotlk)
5: XCOM: Enemy Unknown
6: Fallout (whole series on equal foot!)
7: Metal Gear 1/2/3 (f**k 4 and peace walker)
8: Final Fantasy IV/After Years
9: Time Splitters 2/3

I don't think the list is done, but screw it!
Also don't think they are in the right order, but that's too hard to decide.

YAY, another 3rd gen fan! My favourite of them all, it felt the most unique. Those I like gen 1 and 2 a lot too. The other ones are a bit staler for me, even with the changes that Black/White brought.

Top ten games list for production values, character development, non-linear storytelling and innovation in bringing something new to the table.

1. Deus Ex - For having a great storyline, non linear choices, blending FPS and RPG elements that broke away from typical corridor shooters.

2. Metal Gear Solid 1 - Great storytelling, voice acting, innovative stealth game play, the game that defined steal espionage.

3. KOTOR - Bioshock at their best, The first RPG game I played that offered the player different choices, outcomes and endings. I also loved the fact that you could either go around as a humble Jedi or a cruel Sith, making the experience even better and offering great replay value.

4. Fallout - Fallout for also blending RPG and FPS elements and creating a realistic post apocalyptic world.

5. The Elder Scrolls - Play an Elder Scrolls game, enough said.

6. Mass Effect Trilogy - Blending science fiction, RPG and third person shooter elements.

7. Halo 2 Multi-player, Halo CE for story campaign - Amazing maps, a true skill ranking system, game type variation and community really made Halo 2.

8. Grand Theft Auto - The definitive sandbox game that inspired many open world games.

9. Dragon Age: Origins - The definition of what a third person RPG should be. You define the game, the twists, the storyline and the outcomes.

10. Yakuza - This makes the list for bringing that fun Japanese arcade style that we don't often see in mainstream games.

Yes, the 3rd generation was good, but when I said "3rd version", I mean like the Crystal and Emerald versions, for example.
