Words cannot describe how obsessed I was with the Mario Party series back when I was just a kid/teenager. I loved the series to death back then with its many mini-games and various game modes. But now, as a young adult, I prefer games for the XBOX 360 since they have XBOX Live and they have the option of you interacting with other people via verbal communication unlike Nintendo where they do not even have that option.

I am just wondering if there is anyone else here on WP (besides me) that was obsessed with (or is currently obsessed with) the Mario Party series.

I destroyed so many controllers on the first mario party. That stupid Shy Guy mini game where you had to spin the stick x amount of times. Blisters and snapped control sticks abound!

Yeah, I can understand the "wrecking so many controllers on that Shy Guy mini game where you had to spin the stick x amount of times" thing. Especially when the computer players you're playing against in that mini-game are set to Hard. THAT would be really aggravating and destructive on the N64 controller, furiously spinning the stick in an attempt to beat the computer players when it was impossible to do so to start with.

So looks like I am not the only one after all. Yeah, the games in the MP series were so much fun as well as having great music themes to go along with their boards and mini-games that made them even more enjoyable.

I don't know what the big deal was on the "snapped sticks and blisters" thing. I never had that happen on Mario Party, and I -loved- that bicycle minigame with the Boo.

Yeah, that game (with the Boo) was great, trying to get the light bulb fully lit before the Boo gets to your character and trap your character inside of him :).
