Back in the day, when I was still active in competitive chess, my USCF (standard) rating was as high as 2000-something and I achieved this back in fall 2005 (when I was only 17). I was hoping to get it higher, but I am too busy with more important things like school, getting into the work world, maintaining friendships, and trying to get into a romantic relationship to care anymore.

For those of you who have played in USCF (and your rating is based on 20 rated tournament standard games), what was the highest USCF rating that you have ever achieved?

1833 (for reference, the rating is anywhere between 50 to 100 points higher than a FIDE rating, and this is something like a 140-145 in BCF rating roughly). I gained over 100 points last year (and almost 200 to my quick rating as well) by actually not caring about my rating anymore and just playing.

It is funny how one can actually improve their rating or ability in a certain sport by just playing it for fun and not be serious about it.
