I think it's a pretty good idea, and both games are based off the versions in the PS2 Vampire Collection (so this means they'll be arcade perfect or damn near). It's a good way to gauge interest in the next Darkstalkers game. Frankly, I'm mad that people are complaining about Capcom gauging interest with this game. Darkstalkers is a niche series with a vocal following, but it historically sells like crap (not to mention at the time of its release, it had one of the biggest budgets ever put into a 2D fighter, so that really sucked when it didn't rake in the money like they hoped). Why would they go ahead and make a new one without knowing if it'll sell? Bad business practices to me.
Hell, Capcom had planned a fourth game back in 2000, but it didn't get off the ground.
As you can maybe tell, this game (like most Capcom games) is something of a special interest to me, so I ramble a lot about it when it's brought up.
