Sony Pictures, in association with Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment, have announced the second of their video game-to-film adaptations, Sly Cooper (the first being Ratchet and Clank)

Rainmaker Ent. are pioneers and veterans of CGI for television, with landmark series Reboot and Beast Wars: Transformers. The last half-decade, they were exclusively contracted with Mattel for those cheap direct-to-video Barbie movies but this will be Rainmaker's third feature-length project (the first being the Weinstein Company's Escape from Planet Earth).

I know next to nothing on Blockade unfortunately.

So, with the movie in production for a possibly 2016 release, and Sony making noises about a possible PS4-exclusive Sly Cooper game (the fifth in the series, I believe?) what do people think? This is open to all - I never grew up with the Sly games (Playstations being somewhat rare round my neighbourhood, go figure) so I'm interested to hear all sorts of opinions and things.

When and what got you into the Sly series if you've had access to the older games? Are you excited about the movie based on what little official footage we have? What about the new game with a new addition to the team? What're you hoping for? Please go ahead and divulge all! As a non-fan, I'm curious to hear!

This and R&C will probably be the best video game based movies ever which isn't saying a whole lot. That's not counting "Wreck-It Ralph" either although these movies may possibly be better than that too.

I've never played the Sly Cooper games before, but I am looking forward to the movie.

Uh-oh...

According to this: http://www.vg247.com/2014/01/28/sly-coo ... t-details/ it seems Kevin Munroe may be involved in this... for those unfamiliar with Munroe's name, let's just say: TMNT the 2007 movie.
