After a whole 2 weeks of waiting for it, my copy of MOTHER 3 finally came in! Wish me luck! (Part because it will be challenging later on, and I don't always have a walkthrough video on hand. )

While I have never played them, the MOTHER/Earthbound series is very well acclaimed and I can imagine that you'll have a lot of fun with it. Enjoy!

I didn't think it was that challenging.

Although it might be challenging to try to play it without knowing Japanese and no translation.

In Mother 3, I accidentally ended up going somewhere I wasn't supposed to be yet (I don't remember, some forest), and ended up fighting monsters I wasn't ready for. I got quite a few levels before I figured it out and decided to try to figure out where I was supposed to go.

I don't know if that helped me or not, but the rest of the game wasn't so bad.
