I thought maybe some other aspies might be fans of old PC games like me, so if you are a GOGer post here about why you are and what GOGs you're into. I first found the GOG site back in 2009 when I was playing Fallout 3 and wanted to see what the first Fallout was like, (I learned about GOG.com from a Gameinformer article). I now have a pretty huge backlog of games as a result of the numerous sales they have. The most recent game I got on GOG was King of the Dragon Pass, it has a very detailed mythology and the game is mix of strategy, and role-playing elements. In the game you are the leader of clan settling Dragon Pass, you make choices on who is on your council ring(you have seven consultants one of them is the chief). The game has not a single animation in it, it's all text and beautiful artsy pictures, the awesome music and art helps to immerse me in the world. You will have numerous random events happen and the choices you make will have long-term effects.

The world has a large number of gods you have to make animal or thrall(slave) sacrifices to for benefits, Glorantha doesn't follow the more tame rules of our world. Sacrificing to gods allows you learn their secrets and they help you with powers like healing some of the sick and wounded of your clan, and you can send warriors off to perform heroquests and receive magical benefits for completing them. The only quest I've tried had my warriors fighting some of the weirdest things I've ever seen like "The Maker of Bad Growth" who says "I will slay you by causing the soft parts inside you to multiply like maggots, so that they will burst you open like a too-full sausage." There's also a bunch of other clans on Dragon Pass you'll be competing with, some will attack and others might wish to ally with you, something I found pretty awesome was the beaker ducks(just humanoid talking ducks who settled near my clan) I was able to convince them to allow me some of their crops every year in my game. I haven't gotten much done on there yet but so far it was great.

One of the reviews on GOG ends with "You can raise, tame a pack of triceratops and have your characters RIDE THEM TO BATTLE! What the hell are you waiting for?"

I just saw the site. Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate forever!
Oh, and Myst and Civilization.
Pity there is no Battlefield Vietnam/1942

I was hooked in the original X-COM: UFO Defense for a good long time. I love the in-depth (if clumsy) tactical interface and trying not to take casualties.

Haven't actually used GOG in awhile, but I got Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura and Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition off of it, in addition to a few free games include Beneath a Steel Sky. I'll probably get the Quest for Glory series off of there when I can, as I had a lot of fun with the fan-made remake of QFG 2. It's really nice having a more convenient way of getting old games than, say, Soldout Software, where I got games like Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri and Planescape: Torment from. I also appreciate the lack of DRM. As much as I like, say, Steam, I wish it didn't need to be running to use its games.

I love GOG!

The Might&Magic series, the GAMES OF MY CHILDHOOD!
The Gabriel Knight games
The Longest Journey
Arcanum
Broken Sword
Planescape
MYST!

They have so many of the newer indie adventure games too. Dark Fall, the Blackwell series, Gemini Rue...

Almost all my favorite single player games are GOG. Think I'm gonna play some old games right now!

I like them, but I wished they offered alternate downloads for tech savvy people. I know there are some very computer illiterate people out there, but I really hate downloading a bulky "user friendly" installer program and then having to sift through and delete all of the DOSBox files that come with it just so I can play the game how I want to.

Just give me a nice, simple, tiny ZIP file so I can extract the game into my already existing DOSBox folder, or my 486 Win95 machine. Not to mention, with games like Duke 3D, DOOM, Quake, etc. why would you want to play them in DOSBox when there are numerous wonderful cross-platform source ports to enjoy them in??
