Aion is a new MMORPG first released in Korea. It is made by NCsoft who also created Guild Wars and City of Heroes.

I want to find out if anyone here is going to play this game?

Open Beta has just finished today and soon it will be released in the order below.

Sept 18th - Preselection (I believe this means you can choose servers and create characters)
Sept 20th - Headstart for both North America and Europe (To play before the game is released)
Sept 22nd - North American Release
Sept 25th - European Release

I am disappointed that noones responded or going to play this games. I will show some videos of it anyway.

I'm looking into playing it, but not to sure about dropping 50 bucks on it without ever trying it. I really wish there was a trial. That being said I am also looking into a few other MMO's. So for the time being, seeing as i cant seem to find a trial for it, I will wait till one is made.

That being said, it looks stunning.

i read about on the site they say it's a pvevpvp, so does that mean pvp all the time like conquer where you have no choice but be hunted and killed, or is it like wow where you have a choice wether you want to pvp or not.

i want to try it just fly once and that's it. but if it's like conquer then i won't even bother conquer was hell for the 3 years i played. i just got hunted and killed by everyone and their brother.

There is a realm in the center of the planet which is called the abyss that the 3 races fight over for control of fortresses and artifacts. Two races being players and the other NPC. The NPCs are more likely to attack the race who has captured the most fortresses to try restore the balance.

My brother loves it, but I'm probably never gonna play it.

i went into the forums a few days ago, kept seeing the words ganking and pk over and over. so i'm going to steer clear of this one.

Yes when pvp happens it is a lot of ganking.. you expect to die but you dont lose any xp from being killed by the enemy race. When your alone trying to get xp you see an enemy group prowling around you are better to fly away and find allies. Its great to find lots of people and fight them off.

Ganking groups tend to be short lived because they attack enemy territories and it doesnt take long for them to be heavily outnumbered. One thing I enjoyed most about this game is trying to scout out these groups and have our peoples take them out as soon as possible. When you have about 50 people chasing off an alliance of 20 gankers its a lot of fun being a ranger able to throw out snares at individuals so the pack catches them and kills.

I have not played for a while though. Not being a people person i dont make friends on it so then end up being alone all the time and getting bored. I solo too much in mmorpgs but its being able to be part of a realm where everyone of your race is on your side makes it easier so i didnt always need friends/alliances.

I've been playing AION free to play for a while now and gotta say that it's not the best but also not the worst. It's pretty much boring sometimes but later on gets better.

If anyone needs mentoring to lvl up or just wants to play, I can help. I have asmodian characters in server Perento.
