I am just a few BTs away from having 50% of them on Star Ocean - The Last Hope. That means I have not even scratched the surface of the epic grinding required on it.

After this, I intend to work on both Record of Agarest War games for the 360 - there is one exclusively for the PS3, but I don't own a PS3.

I have been working on F.E.A.R. a little bit the last couple of months. I only have a couple of the MP achievements left, although I barely touched the SP part of that game.

Achievement whoring can be a drug. Trying to impress people on TA by obtaining high-ratio achievements, even when none of it will matter a decade from now? Sometimes I wonder what the point is, but I keep going along with it anyway.

Anybody else addicted to long grinds in the name of having it noted on the gamertag?

I use to, but I found it takes the fun out of the game for me. I just have too many games to spend so much time in a game unless I truly enjoy it. I don't continue playing games I dislike to get trophies. I will only do it now if it is a game I truly enjoy and does not take the fun out of it. Today there is just too much choice and I'm pulled too thin and in some ways that makes me enjoy games even less.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope is a great game with great music ( I own both soundtracks)! I beat it and always meant to revisit it for another play through just for fun, but again too many games and the next 6 months I'm just adding more and more to my backlog with so many releases. One of them will be one I will continuously play so it will also limit my gaming (FFXIV). Congrats on your dedication that one is going to take a long time! I hope you enjoy it! :)

Hello, I'm a WoW sufferer.

God damn that game is addictive. I can't stand to do the dungeons, way too intense for me. But the achievements for everything else, I just slowly work my way through them.

I'm currently hooked on the battle pet mini-game. It's perfect for me. Currently working on the 400 pets achievement. Got just over 50 to go now. Then I'll be going back to re-do all the old dungeons solo just for the hell of it, and because I havn't seen many of them because I can't stand to do dungeon groups.

I have a fairly good number of platinum trophies on my main PSN account, but I wouldn't say that I'm "addicted" to collecting them since I usually just get easier platinums or difficult ones in games that I really like. Many games I'll just get-through and watch the ending without collecting every trophy since I have a Gamefly subscription. I also have a couple other current systems that I play quite a bit (Wii-U, 3DS-XL).

I've done quite some gringing to plat Ni No Kuni. I did play Star Ocean but that game required WAY too much grinding for my tastes.

On Xbox, I grind for the single player achievements...I don't do online so multiplayer achievements are off the table. On Lord of the Rings Online, I've been working on clearing all tasks in each area to get the titles and perks, but fellowship tasks are unlikely to happen as I don't game when most people are inclined to form groups for questing...that, and I'm only doing it for my primary character.

I don't do any kinds of achievements, not even on my sims game. I don't log in when playing it because I'm not interested in that stuff.

The only game I play online is Runescape and I would like to max out all my skill and maybe get completionist cape. I do like to get 100% completion in games if I can.

My brother only plays certain games on XBox because of the achievements but i would but i dont see no point in them at all apart from getting a high gamerscore.

Achievements/trophies are great for discovering aspects of the game you would otherwise never have.

Oh, yeah.

My house this weekend:
Niece: "Did you see that? The vista we just did, it's a jumping puzzle!"
Daughter: "Did we get an achievement for it?"

I guess that means there really is nothing worth exploring in Avatar - The Burning Earth. :P

I do sometimes. I usually use it as an excuse to go back to an old game I haven't played in a while and see if I can fill in some achievements I'm missing.

Hmm, well I don't sit at all my games playing all of them trying to get every achievement. But I always try to get as many as I can from each game I play. If I know there achievements I'll never get, then I just forget it. But if I love a game a lot, I try to get every achievement in it because I know it will be fun to do. I've only completed every achievement in 10 games.

I only have 1 game maxed on my PS3 (Dynasty Warriors 7) and only 2 more games I am actually trying to max (Deus Ex Human Revolution, Warriors Orochi 3).

On 360 i've got a few games maxed - I don't count a 360 game as maxed unless dlc is maxed as well as base game since it adds to the total gamer score. The ones I am proudest of are:

Warriors Orochi 2 (the hardest part of this was unlocking the last dream mode level needed for an achievement. Had to grind grind grind)
Skyrim (base game achieves were easy, dlc was a pain)
Fallout New Vegas (Lonesome Road was a pain. Also I had to play through Dead Money twice cos I forgot to save near the end. That was annoying. Love the game but the dlc is mostly a pain)
Mass Effect 3 (Insanity for the most part was easy but I got stuck in a few really silly places. Like, the bits you expect to blitz through I spent days on and the bits I expected to struggle with were easy)

It depends on the game for me. When I get a game, the first thing I do after loading the game is have a quick look through the achievement list. Just to get an idea. I don't look at the descriptions and if any are secret, I don't look them up online. Then after 1 playthrough I decide if i'm going to try to max it or not by looking at the secret achievements if there is any left.

If I know a game is do-able, I will max it. (for example, if it's all story achievements like Oblivion)

If I think a game is do-able with a bit of effort, I will try to max it. (for example, Fallout New Vegas. Not all are story related, some of them you have to go out of your way for but it's nothing too insane except maybe Hardcore mode or the food one haha.)

If I know I can't max a game for whatever reason, I will still play it but I won't attempt to max it. (For example, Call of Duty has achievements for Zombie mode. I hate zombie mode so I will never be able to max any of those games)
