I'm 27 and I play it on 360, usually just every now and then, but I've always enjoyed playing it.

I've played a lot of Minecraft in a lot of different ways (vanilla, cooperatively, modded, PvP), but I wouldn't call myself a fan; I am quite willing to explaining everything that is wrong with it and Notch's development of the game. Nonetheless, though, it's a very popular game and it's not hard at all to find someone that plays it, nor is it hard to have fun with it yourself.

I find it quite impressive that what started out as a buggy, broken, very incomplete, goof-around-and-do-mostly-nothing "game" programmed sloppily in Java with no multiplayer support has become as popular as it has.

Even today, it feels like there's still a ways to go before they're finished with it, but it's still enjoyable in its own weird way.

I know about everything you just said and I completely agree with it. Ain't that something, too, because it seems like it's hard to find people that are capable of being objectively critical of a game that they enjoy. Also it seems like anyone that likes the game enough to be ignorant of it's flaws isn't really that much of a gamer.

I actually need to work on being less critical, it annoys my friends to no end =)

It probably doesn't help that I've been a hobbyist game dev for about 15 years now, and have quite a few online friends in the industry, so I have a little bit too much knowledge in the area.

It also doesn't help that I probably have AS

Yes, I love it. I'm presently playing with a few friends on a customized Feed the Beast Ultimate modpack server. PM me for server details if you'd like to join.

I have this facination with automation in the game, played around a bit with buildcraft first, now I'm having a go at powercraft, too bad there's bugs in powercraft atm that makes most of the interesting stuff useless

There's no such thing as too much knowledge when it comes to videos games, and I bet you're great at parties. : P

Huge fan of it here myself as well. Have spent tons of time with it.

The game has a few screwy issues.... such as it's current lack of difficulty in survival mode (arrrgh just buff the blasted mobs already or make harder ones that ACTUALLY SHOW UP, unlike witches and Silverfish), but it remains an all-time favorite of mine.

I used to play Minecraft a lot, and I started thinking about how there's no ending to it so there wasn't really a point to the whole game.

Mojang and 4J have added an ending.
