Microsoft Points no longer exist...

But to answer your question, play a new retail game within 30 days of its release for at least 10 hours. That will get you 1000 credits, so after 50 hours across 5 games you'll have $5 added to your Microsoft account.

I've never heard of getting credits for playing games.

But you get a 2% refund of money which you spend on downlodable games and content if you have XBL Gold and more than 25,000 Gamerscore.
Or a 1% refund of money spent if you have more than 10,000 Gamerscore.

Ah right, they've changed it since doing away with MS points.

So, now you get "credits" based on your Gamerscore - rather than a direct £/p refund.

And they only count purchases above £6.70 for any of their offers also, which IMHO is a bit lame.

I find it a little unfair that the 10 hours of playing a game requires a new game, as in playing a game within a month of initial release and ONLY retail discs...I got the creds for playing Diablo III ( still need my own copy damn it... ) and will have the creds for 10 hours of the new Adventure Time game over the next few days ( it should arrive from Gamefly soon ) and Lightning Returns when it comes out but come on, 10 hours is crazy in some games without lots of multiplayer ( which I'm not really into )....

You can also get credits for renewing your gold membership and getting friends you recommend to upgrade to gold.
