www.gog.com is currently giving away Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics for free.

How can one say no?

...I mean besides ones who already own them...

Fallout 3 is the most addictive game ever. I wish other game studios would get the hint and create more first person, open world adventures like this. After a while the linear-type games becomes boring.

Awesome. I just got a new PC. I'm going to "buy" them today and download them on the new PC when my DVI to HDMI cable comes in tomorrow. `-`

Geeze.... I really need to play Fallout 2 again. It's been over a year since I last played.

I wanna rescue Myron, beat the crap out of him, and then abandon him in restrooms at the entrance to NCR.

God, do I HATE that prick?

And God replied, "Why yes, GoonSquad, yes you do."

Oh well, nothing to see here...

Maybe it's different in his country? Idunno, just a guess.

I've been wanting to try the classic Fallout games for a while, but whenever I've though about buying them I've always happened to be broke. Now I have them on my GoG.com profile, all free! :D I don't even have to feel bad for acquiring them in an *ahem* less-than-legitimate manner either, since it's completely legit. ;)

Btw, which one should I start with, out of the three games released? I'm thinking of going with Tactics, since I somewhat enjoy turn-based strategy games.

I've never played Tactics, but I believe the description on GoG said it's real-time and not turn-based.

I'd say start with the first game, since it's first ;) And the battles in it do have a very turn-based strategy feel to them.

...if you want to get even more retro, the ORIGINAL original game is also on GoG and Steam, called Wasteland (they had to call the sequel Fallout because EA was sitting on the rights to the "Wasteland" name for a very, very long time). I doubt today's gamers would find it very accessible, but I enjoyed it a heck of a lot.

...speaking of Wasteland... http://store.steampowered.com/app/240760/

Funny how they made Fallout because they couldn't make another Wasteland, and now that they don't have the rights to make another Fallout, they're making another Wasteland.

shame. I couldn't wait for Fallout 4, I wish they'd do one in another country. Maybe China since it seems to get mentioned a lot.

I'd gift you mine, but I don't know if you can gift them to someone else after you've already bought them for yourself...

Edit: Looking it up, apparently I should have gifted the games to myself, and then it would give me codes that I could give away to someone else later.

I will email GoG and see if they can do anything.

I know this will probably earn me the scorn of many fans, but I'd really love to see Fallout 2 redone in a Fallout 3/New Vegas style playsystem.

Tactics isn't that good. Best to just play Jagged Alliance 2 is you want a turn-based tactical game mixed with some RPG.

Fallout 1 and 2 are both great.

Though they're a lot different to Fallout 3 if you came late to the party. More like New Vegas, just with an isometric view.
