Body language in The Sims?

I found The Sims 2 game for Nintendo DS while cleaning out the bedroom with my bf and I been playing it and when I have to talk to the other sims by doing Call him or her down, restarin, or romance, or impress, you have three option to do an action and if you do the wrong one, your sanity goes down. I figured maybe the sims have body language and you look at it as you're trying to calm them down, restrain, etc. Is there body language in them game really? What do you guys think? You have to watch them to know what action to do.
