Hey just wondering if there was anyone else on this forum that plays Civ 5 also.

I have been playing quite a bit in single player mode but want to start trying multiplayer mode online and was wondering if anyone else wanted to play with me or have any tips or anything like that.

I played enough to get half of the achievements on Steam before I realized it was taking me 4 hours to complete a single session, and that was the short ones. Not that I had much else to do. I did do multiplayer once, and we played so long into the night I was sick the next morning. The cold snuck up on me when I stopped and my butt wouldn't stop shivering.

Lmao, yeah I played for 10 hours straight last night/morning, and only got to about year 1940's. I resumed the game again and just finished it.. That took another 8 hours..

Yeah, I've managed to play through as all but maybe 10 civs, and beat it up to difficulty 5 (or 4, takes long enough on 1).

:-) I got Civ 5 recently in a Humble Bundle, along with a bunch of the DLC.
It's fairly similar to Civ 2, which I played a great deal when it was still a newish game.
Civ 5 is also very similar to (but less dumbed down than) Civ : Revolution, which I have for the Xbox 360.
So, I'm finding it easy enough to get into Civ 5.
I'm starting out with the fastest game speed and a really small game (only 4 civilisations) to get a feel for it.

If you ever want to play online and you have Steam, let me know.

I've kind of taken a break from Civ 5 for the moment since I've been trying to find people to play with, especially if that person has a decent amount of experience with Civ games. I'm pretty newbie and I just don't want to play with people I don't know and get murked, or worse, they quit halfway through.

Same goes for you, manawolf.
