[Rumor] Talks about Amazon buying Xbox from Microsoft?

So, I stumbled onto this randomly and thought this might be noteworthy material.
My personal thoughts on this possibility are:
Anyone can make xbox better than microsoft has been lately, so if it's true that microsoft is dumping the product, at least it has the potential to be picked up by a company that knows what they're doing and actually know how to properly capitalize on a product by having features and products that the consumers like.
I would like to see xbox being picked up by a different company, maybe then we'll get a noteworthy console without having a list of cons that shouldn't exist. We'll see.
Thoughts anyone?

That would be kind of weird, since the whole point of XBox is that it's running in MS APIs (DirectX, XNA, etc.).
More power to Amazon if it goes through, hopefully they can save the XBone, but I wouldn't be surprised if they start over from scratch. With Windows 8, it's looking like MS is pretty intent on ditching the computer world and switching over to tablet devices.

There is nothing wrong with the xbox though, people are still just riding the hate train they had from earlier. Microsoft are lining up their big exclusives which will be the defining moment, I heard word that they bought the Gears of War franchise, which along Halo will have some effect. Xbox One has its place for being the console not too far from the PC. Microsoft has clearly put too much into the Xbox brand to just sell it off, and they do know what they are doing as a technology company involved in daily use of computers.
Really news lately is the Wii U is in trouble, but that is not even going to be shown to be true until Nintendo stop with their Mario other lower tier games and get something gamers want, after all the 3DS not too long ago had large sales when certain titles came out.
If anything is in trouble of being bought it is those small things that are made for indie titles.

Generally, console rumours need to be taken with a large pinch of salt. At the dawn of the last generation, it was said that the PS3 would be able to record TV shows and burn DVDs. Rumours also said that the Wii would be able to produce just as good graphics as the PS3 and Xbox 360—apart from the HD graphics. Xbox One has sold fairly well, despite the online hate campaigns (which, in retrospect, seem pretty much like those who surrounded the PS3 seven years ago).
We DO want Mario, just not 20+ Mario games a year....
Nintendo just needs to stop with the lame gimmicks like motion controls and touch controls where traditional controls are perfectly fine ( like Skyward Sword, I HATE that game ) and to release more of their unique games worldwide ( we never got gems like Card Hero, ASH, Soma Bringer and Zengeki No Reginleiv. the Wii Fatal Frame/Project Zero games were never localized in the US. They never brought Chibi-Robo 3 or Mother 3 to the west, and we only got the 5th Starfy game. ). Of course, new Star Fox ( closer to 64 than Assault or Command ) and F-Zero would help...and they could always bring back some classic franchises that haven't really been around lately like Ice Climbers, Lolo, StarTropics, Mach Rider and Murasame Castle as well as HD iterations of 1080, Pilotwings, Wave Race and Endless Ocean. And if they could get Shadow Of The Eternals under their banner & turn into an actual Eternal Darkness 2 that would be pretty freaking sweet...
But come on, they definitely give gamers what they want. I mean they just announced Little Mac as a playable fighter in the new Smash Bros games! AND they're the reason we're getting Bayonetta 2, not to mention Monolith's new RPG ( which must be Xenoblade 2, the footage shown thus far looks like the Bionis' leg area ) and SMT X FE.
As for Amazon buying Xbox...I really don't see it happening.

Nintendo milks a lot, but they're pure amateurs at milking compared to Activision. Motion controls may not be the best choice for certain games, but you can't deny the fact that it's awesome for FPS games.
Really news lately is the Wii U is in trouble, but that is not even going to be shown to be true until Nintendo stop with their Mario other lower tier games and get something gamers want, after all the 3DS not too long ago had large sales when certain titles came out.

I can't speak for other gamers, but I personally don't randomly hate on the xbone for it's past failures that have since been fixed, I'm disliking the product because of the crappy features that still exist and how they're being forced on gamers at their expense (not to mention the yet still more hardware failures that microsoft has become notorious for). Microsoft's track record for making systems and features is so bad, I cringe to think of what next gen crap they will produce years down the road, not to mention what failure rates will arise from this one.
In the years since xbox 360 and PS3 have been out, I had to deal with 5 console failures within the first 3 years alone, and they were all xbox because of substandard parts and hardware. I've owned 6 360's and even this last one freezes randomly at times. I barely play it anymore because I don't know when it's going to freeze or crash next and it's frustrating to be playing a game trying to relax and have that happen every half hour or so.
I've only ever owned 2 ps3's, they/it practically never freezes during a game, and only once have I dealt with system failure (being of course, the first one).
The statistics speak for themselves. Some of us aren't willing to get burned twice by the same company for the same reason, it's got nothing to do with the fact that it's xbox, if it were ps3, it'd be the same story.
My perspective is, rumor or not, a different company would be better for xbox as a whole because microsoft doesn't care enough about their products, nor customers, to get it right and learn from their mistakes.
As for microsoft being a technology company, that literally means squat, they could be the foremost experts on technological advancement and still not know how to properly run a gaming company. They produced one great console, after that it was downhill. Maybe it's time that microsoft started sticking to what they produce best (not by much): software. Their torch blew out years ago, but they're running as though it were still burning, hoping to light the alter with it.
