My 3DS is frozen, please help!

Just a few minutes ago I decided to update Super Smash Brothers on my 3DS, which I hadn't played in a while. As usual it asked for my confirmation code, which as usual I said I would send in later. And then suddenly both screens went completely blank. I can't do anything with it. I can't even turn my 3DS off! What should I do, I'm going on a trip tomorrow and I really wanted to take my 3DS with me.

Looked it up, the solution I found repeated everywhere for a "cant turn it off" problem: hold the power switch down for 10 or 20 seconds, forget which, to cause a forced shutdown.

If that doesnt work... it may need to be repaired.

I had that problem too yesterday. It was almost out of power (red light) so I just let it die, and fortunately it was back to normal when I charged it.

I'll try Misery's tip if it happens again.

Okay, I held the button down and it seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the help.
