Do any of you that play MMOs have a to do list for your play sessions? I would like to hear about them. Usually I just do what I feel like but I would like to get more of a plan to get more efficient with my game time.

I used to have one back when I was MMO-hopping but I've finally settled down to just one that I spend most of the day on. And that one is soon going to turn into two once Archage Beta events start this summer.

I rarely have as much time as I want with MMOs anymore. But when I do play it, I focus on at least getting a level in every time I log on. If my inventory is full I go back to town to deconstruct everything and go back to leveling. (this is in that "terrible" game called elderscrollsonline)

When I did have more time, I used to play WoW. I'd know every quest to gather in an area and grind pretty efficiently because I'd grab all the right ones and do them all at the same time. I used addons to tell me exactly where to go (back when blizzard didn't provide any quest info). I don't know if this helps you in anyway because I don't know what game you're playing.

Nice pic btw, I watched that show a couple weeks ago and was surprised at how good it was. I'm sad it doesn't have more episodes. Maybe I'll get around to reading the manga someday.

In a mmo that was my special interest for a long time I was doing this:

1. Log in the shop char (a buffing priest).
2. Set a shop.
3. Open 2nd client.
4. Login your main account, buff it using the shop char, do daily quests on main char (about a hour).
5,6,7,8. Login your alts (30mins-1h each). Buff them, do their daily quests.
9. Return to your main char, buff it.
10. Help your guild mates with their quests.
11. Attend the event (there was a different one every day of week at 8 or 9 pm).
12. Check your shop. Fill empty spots with new stuff.
13. Log out your main account.
14. Go to sleep, set the computer to turn off in like 2 hours so shop char logs out then (for about 2 hours after a event finished there was an increase in sales because of many people online).

Wow.

The most I do (if I'm not into another game at the time) is log into my main character and try to complete everything in his quest journal. In LOTRO I'm working mostly on slayer deeds (some limits due to needing groups to do them). My alts are at level 50, but I'm not into growing them any further at this point.

It depends on the game, really. If I'm playing a grind-heavy game, I'll try to make an equation of what monsters distribute how much exp in a certain area, then calculate how many monsters I'd need to kill in a certain time frame. Then I'll set a time frame to fight and level-up throughout the day, hoping to hit a certain level.

If the game is more quest oriented, I'll just follow my quest log.

Then there's certain games I set aside for irl 2-player, like Borderlands 2. Those days I'll see if I can get my friend to come over for the day, buy some snacks, order pizza, sit around and game together for the day.

Back before WoW turned to crap I had a stable of toons with a max level of each class-- and that requires planning. I'd keep an excel spreadsheet with lockouts/gear progression/daily crafting cooldowns/etc. I'd also have a tab with crafted gear and the raw mats to make the gear, and what toons had the crafting skill. Then my spreadsheet got so big that my computer would run out of memory opening it-- that's when I realized I had a problem with anal retentiveness, puckered way too tight.

Now I play Rift and SWTOR casually. It's hard because sometimes I just want to do research on the games and start listing gear paths/crafting mats/etc. I think I'm more addicted to the opportunity an MMO provides to list and categorize things than I am to actually playing them.
