Final Fantasy IX high resolution backgrounds

Turn out the backgrounds in Final Fantasy IX were downscaled from higher resolution ones.

So why Square-Enix don't you make a remake? Why?

I think Square-Enix doesn't remake games, as it would mean restarting from scratch, anyways, as what's expected of Final Fantasy game's these days are in the realm of XII, XIII and XV.

Though, honestly, they really should consider giving up on making new games and remaking old ones instead, as from what I've come to understand, they're losing fans from the latest games (I wouldn't know why, as I haven't played them.).

Personally, if they just remade VII and IX, I would be a happy camper. But I would have high expectations for them, as I'm sure many fans would (Especially VII.).
