Recently released, and currently free to play.

Depression Quest is an interactive fiction game where you play as someone living with depression. You are given a series of everyday life events and have to attempt to manage your illness, relationships, job, and possible treatment. This game aims to show other sufferers of depression that they are not alone in their feelings, and to illustrate to people who may not understand the illness the depths of what it can do to people.

that is a very good  needs to be advertised widely and virally marketed.

Looks therapeutic but doesn't look fun.

it's not fun at present but if you make it through it and use it to work through your issues it may well enable you to have more fun later on.

This is quite disappointing and quite pathetic of the creator if true.

^ it is.

The game is pandering BS and the developer is one naughty word or another. Moving on...

The video is no longer up, so I can't see it, but what exactly made it bad? Isn't teaching about depression a good thing?

The video wasn't about the game itself, but about Zoe Quinn (the creator), if you're interested to read more, here's a post about it:

Sounds like way too much drama. I guess she knows first hand about bipolar and depression, no matter if it's true or not (I can't really figure it out nor pick a side.).

RE UPLOAD:

She did a false DMCA claim on that video.

And another one:

Mountains of evidence:
http://thezoepost.wordpress.com/

TL:DW:

Basically Zoe Quinn, an indie developer "made a game" called Depression Quest which is about Depression. But before she had claimed false claims of harassment that was supposedly from the MRA's. She emotionaly abused and cheated on her boyfriend and also slept and manipulated five guys who work at major game journalism sites such as Kotaku and Rock,Paper,Shotgun which gave her special privileges and positive attention. However, after her boyfriend showed the undeniable evidence for everyone to see, sites were banning any articles done on this left and right. She felt no remorse for her actions and tried to lie her way out of it.

My take on it:

I highly doubt someone as manipulative as her who has no remorse for her actions can have depression. Again i just wanted to inform everyone on this issue, don't shoot the messenger. Excluding the trolls, I agree the people against this. This is important since it proves most people's doubts of the corruption happening in journalism and the mainstream media. She also made money off of Robin Williams death which is quite low and makes me truly doubt she knows anything about depression. Again this is my take on it i just wanted to put this out for people who enjoy gaming.

I think I will just watch it on Youtube. There's nothing worse than spending a load of time and effort downloading and playing a game that has universally bad reviews and then finding out for yourself they were right.

It's actually quite humorous how one person with borderline PD can mess with so many people.
