I figured that since Doom had it's time in the spotlight, I figured why not bring up some Quake 1 discussion threads?

For me, my favorite weapon is the Super Nailgun (or for a more awesome name, the Perforator), it eats my ammo up fast, but it practically mows down an enemy horde like a lawn mower cutting up hundreds of grass blades in a few seconds.

(Note: The weapons from the first Quake 1 mission pack will be included in the poll as well.)

The Quake 1 rocket launcher is godly, but I'd have to give the award to the Thunderbolt, just because of how badass it is. It's a gun that shoots LIGHTNING, and it was the first of its kind in an FPS! They also made it so that if you shot it underwater, everyone in the water would get electrocuted. :P I think that's a pretty awesome touch.

I'll agree with you there. The Thunderbolt is sort of the cousin of DooM's BFG 9000, if you will. The one thing I like about the Thunderbolt is the sound it makes when you start firing it. It makes a loud, thunder sound as if to say "I am a weapon of mass destruction, you're screwed." It is my second favorite weapon next to the Super Nailgun (aka the Nail Gatling Gun :P).

I also remember today, when I was on the bus to school, I talked to my friend about how deadly the Thunderbolt and Super Nailgun would be in real life. I might consider on making a thread on what Quake 1 weapons would the deadliest if they existed. But we could also discuss it here as well.

I always enjoyed the double barrel shotgun in Doom II so I used it a lot in Quake I as well. Also a fan of the nailgun and grenade launcher. I love grenade guns.

The Double Barreled Shotgun has a really nice firing sound as well.

As a Quake player (Also doom), I love the double barrel shotgun alongside with Rocket launcher and nailgun.

I actually love the double-barreled shotgun, even though it's not the best weapon. I just really like the sound effect, and the look of it...it just feels really satisfying to use. The regular shotgun, on the other hand, I've always felt had a really wimpy sound effect, and just feels like a pea shooter.

Actually, it just explodes. Like any other explosion in the game, if you're too far away, or behind a wall, it won't effect you.

Fans, thinking it was a bug, fixed it before, but id has said that the explosion is the intended effect.
