Do you play because the creator has autism? Or do you play just because you have a fondness for the games? What are your reasons for wanting to play? I'm just curious because I notice a huge number of us autistics happen to adore pokemon games. So, I was really curious about your answers.

For me, I play because I'm used to it. I've played since Pokemon Yellow, and I've just gained a huge fondness towards each game I play. When a new games comes out, like Omega Ruby, I get this rush where I play nonstop for days. XD

I played Black and Heartgold for a while on my DS, but eventually I got tired of it.

That said, I do like to play the physical cardgame. But then again, I quite like TCG/CCG's. Haven't played in a bit though. Last time I played was with my ex-girlfriend when we were still dating.

I'm not playing it because the creater has autism though... I just like cardgames. The DS game; it eventually caught up when I saw all kinds of people play it at a local gamestore. I never cared much for the television show, so that surely didn't spark my interest. For me it's cardgame before videogame.

Yeah, and some of the designs make me chuckle... that's also part of the appeal I guess. Some designs are pretty fun and clever, others on the otherhand... meh.

I've been playing the games since 1998 because I love the monster designs (well a lot of them..) and I've always found each and every game to be highly addicting. I would be playing omega ruby right now but I don't have a 3ds at the moment, I need to buy another one. I think each new installment has done a great job streamlining features and making very time consuming elements, like breeding a "perfect" Pokémon far more accessible.

Dragon and grass types are usually my favorite.

It's a fun and relatively simple RPG. I didn't even know the creator was on the spectrum until after I was diagnosed, and I loved Pokémon for 13 years before I knew either of us were on the spectrum.

I play Pokémon because I find the games very fun and addictive to play. It’s not too hard, yet it poses challenges. And I really, really like the little monsters!

I started playing it almost 10 years before I heard of AS, and more than a decade before I heard the claim about Satoshi Tajiri being aspie, which has never been confirmed AFAIK. If he really is, that would be very nice! 8)

I am really looking forward to Alpha Sapphire/ Omega Ruby! I wonder what new Pokemon will have mega evolution.

I play the pokemon games because i find them fun and entertaining.I know that the games haven't changed very much from the originals on the game boy but i still enjoy them. I haven't played a pokemon game since diamond and pearl though so i dont know if the new ones are radically different from the older games.

They added in a new type (fairy) that is immune to dragon and takes extra damage from steel and poison moves. Added in mega-evolutions too for a number of 'mons. You can only use one mega evolution per battle, its an item you equip that makes them transform for the duration of the battle and they gain new abilities and stats.

Wait the creator has Autism?! 8O

i play because i like the simplicity of the game... collect things (pokemon), level them up and get badges. also the storyline in the latest games were cool. Pokemon X and Pokemon Alpha are the best!

I just watch other people play it, the commentary can get pretty intense at times.

I don't. I called it quits when I realized that'd it'd become far too repetitive and predictable. That was back in generation IV.

Of course, that does leave the minor issue of my username no longer matching my interest.

I use to play pokemon competitively back in the old D/P days; however, that burnt me out bad for pokemon. So, I only play pokemon games for the single player whenever I feel like it.

The battle system (it is surprisingly deep)
The breeding mechanics (X gave me a few shinys and good IVs)
The collecting and adventures.

I am big poke addict....

I need to complete OR now.

I play pokemon because of character variety. I also like trading them,so I use the online features to trade and occassinal battle. I always challenge myself to rid of weak pokemon. I'm always on the hunt for shines and use many methods on pokemon X.
