Do I really count as a "gamer"?

I've been wondering this for a very long time. I have over 151 games. The only thing is, I don't beat them usually. If I play Alice Madness Returns for 30-45 minutes I get bored and have to switch to Bayonetta. Variety is basically my "style" when it comes to video games. Some of the games I like are Metroid, Darkstalkers, Mega Man, Tekken, Timeshift, Devil May Cry, Borderlands, LittleBigPlanet, Mortal Kombat, Pokemon, Street Fighter, Call of Duty, Burnout, Folklore, Alice Madness Returns, Bayonetta, Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, Heroes of Might and Magic, Metal Gear Solid, Dead or Alive, Splinter Cell, Sims, Soul Calibur, Naughty Bear, Mirror's Edge, Bioshock, Resident Evil, God of War, Prince of Persia, Twisted Metal, Dead Space, Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Dishonored, Halo, Alien Hominid, Destroy All Humans, The Legend of Zelda, Viewtiful Joe, L.A. Noire, Fallout, Animal Crossing, Okami, Lollipop Chainsaw, PaRappa the Rapper, Dungeon Seige, Death Jr., Duke Nukem, Skullgirls, Watch Dogs, Uncharted, Castlevania and Hatsune Miku Project Diva F.
I can play for a huge amount of time because I recently graduated. Do I qualify as a "gamer" if I don't beat all of the games that I own? Or do I count as one because of my almost 17-18 years of experience?

Yes, you'd be a gamer despite that.
It doesnt really matter wether you finish them or not; if you're playing them and enjoying them, well, there you are.
Not to mention that alot of so-called "hardcore gamers" these days wouldnt even touch alot of the games you list, because they're difficult, and many have gotten used to the trend of extreme hand-holding in mainstream games lately.
As it is, the definition of it is bloody stupid at this point.
But beyond that... why does it matter? If you're into gaming, you're into gaming. Simple as that.
Heck, I have the attention span of someone that cant be bothered to finish this analogy, and tend to do similar things myself, bounce from one game to another totally at random, but there's no way I'm NOT a gamer, since it's most of what I do.
Just dont worry about it, and enjoy the games for what they are. No need to do otherwise.

I consider myself a gamer, and I'm as casual as they come. I've only beaten maybe a dozen games in my entire life, yet I've played hundreds of different titles across all manner of different platforms. When I was younger I thought that I had to beat games and spend all of my spare time playing them so I could fit the "gamer" image, but then I eventually realized that being a gamer is simply about enjoying games and being passionate about them, which I am.
We're similar in that I'll also play one game until I get bored of it, and move onto another. I don't enjoy myself when I force myself to stick to one game, and that kind of defeats the whole purpose of playing for me, so I play what I feel like, when I feel like it, for as long as I feel like. The only real downside is that I'll sometimes get to a point in a game I'm playing where if I go back to it after a while, I'll be completely stuck because I don't remember what I'm supposed to do. This is pretty much the main reason why I've never beaten any RPGs.

More of a gamer than me...lol I own one video game, Brutal Legends and a friend I haven't talked to much in a while has it somewhere but don't care so much since I already played it like twice. Aside from that I have been playing the PC game League of Legends that's free and on my PS3 there was a free download for a game called Defiance which I downloaded and have been playing some the past couple days.
Over the years I never really had consoles, me and my siblings had an x-box for a while but cannot remember what all games I played on it, I remember playing Devil May Cry on PS2 at my cousins house when visiting. Also played a few random PC games like Need for Speed(would be interested in a PS3 version of that game or one like it) and a Star Wars game of my brothers. I do like playing video/computer games but doesn't take up that much of my life, sometimes i might get rather focused and end up spending much longer than I planned on a game though. I would not really consider myself a gamer per say, much more obsessed with music.

Everyone I know in real life who plays LoL is utterly obsessed with it. I refuse to play it, or most other MOBAs, because of what I've seen it do to people. I've never witnessed another game that causes people to rage so much. How can such a rage-inducing game be enjoyable?

I always tell people.... try other mobas that arent Dota 2, or LoL. Those two are the rage magnets (and the crazy magnets, too). Anything else, like Smite, Strife, Heroes of the Storm.... you just get your "usual" amounts of randomized anger that come from players in any multiplayer game. You know, the stereotypical jerk with a mic that Xbox Live has always been famous for. THAT kind of player. As opposed to the deranged wackos that you can find in Dota or LoL.
I never find myself getting angry at the games though.
But yeah, I dont know why people play something when it's ticking them off so much. Not only is it not any fun in that case, but you cant exactly play at your best when you're hopping mad. And it seems like team-based games in particular are so very prone to this problem.
If you play games, then you are a gamer.
Stop there, unless you want to find out what kind of gamer you are according to market research.
For fun:
Do you eat Doritos and drink Mountain Dew (this is what real gamers eat and drink)?
Do you accept the Doritos Pope as the one true Pope?
Is your main genres of gaming first person shooters, third person shooters, and realistic sports.
Are you a Western male between 13-35?
Do you play games with browns, grays and reds as the only colors?
Do you hate games with actual colors and make fun of those who play them?
Do you refuse to play games with female character leads?
Do you play on either Xbox or Playstation (multiconsole owners be damned)?
If you answer yes to all of the above, then you are a real/true/hardcore gamer according to market research and industry veterans.

I consider people who meet those criteria to be posers. REAL gamers aren't afraid to own multiple systems, play games with bright colors and/or female leads, play games that aren't first/third-person shooters, etc.

They regularly survey gamers to find out who is fits where.
You're just the real poser!
Gaming "culture" and definitions are dynamic and are always changing.

Developers and those who have made a career out of working in the gaming industry.
This could be Iwata (CEO of Nintendo), The CEO of EA, or a developer like Will Wright.

I know, it's kind of a poserish thing to be elitist and call other people in a scene "posers", but the fact of the matter is that your typical CoD-playing dudebro isn't really that interested in all what gaming has to offer. They play CoD because it's popular and "hardcore", and they're too insecure to play games that aren't as "hardcore".

Those consumers are the biggest spenders in gaming.
