The time has come and I'm super sad. I love my Ps4 and I know that there are so many good games coming out and are already out, but when my Ps3 stops working I'll be sad because there are so many games I didn't get to beat.

how do you know your ps3 is going die in a year? and couldn't you just buy a new one.

If mine died I would buy a replacement. I actually bought a backup PS2 right after production ceased and new ones were becoming scarce for sale at retail price. I would do the same for any console.

I didn't get into the PS2 until late 2012, I now own four of them!

I think I'm overreacting. If mine quits working within the next two or three years, I'll just buy a replacement and get one used. I recently got a used N64 and I love it!

I've read that Ps3s last a very long time.

mine from 2006 died, back in may last year, just picked one up for $200ish well 125 for ps3 and 75ish for hdd for ps4, so upgraded ps4 and got new ps3 for 200 :) would have prefered a gen 2 ps3 over the gen 3 though.
