Now I'm fairly certain most if not all of us immediately thought of Skylanders and Disney Infinity when Amiibo were first announced. That's part of my idea....what if Nintendo made a game along the lines of the "stupidly removed yet they kept All Star and added garbage new modes" Adventure Mode from Smash Bros Melee & Brawl, but longer and using Amiibo as the characters? The game would come with a couple Amiibo figures and you could 100% the game with just what comes with the game but you could also use any Amiibo to add more characters or levels. Plus, every stage could be based on existing Nintendo worlds and filled with enemies of those worlds ( as opposed to the generic and forgettable stages & enemies from SSE )...

An actual Skylanders-esque game using Amiibo would be great too, perhaps with varying abilities needed to access certain areas ( EX: Bowser's strength busting walls, Inkling squid form running up ink covered walls, Peach's float ability, Pikachu's electric attacks powering tech etc ).....

Of course, if Nintendo were to do something like these games they'd HAVE to make Amiibo more available. You know, for a company that used to make toys, they really dropped the ball there.....

No thanks...

There is very little Nintendo can do to make Amiibos more available in North America, they cannot force retailers to stock their products.
Right now retailers in North America are purposely ordering low amounts of Amiibos because they don't want them sitting on the store shelves.
They also don't think it's worth ordering a good amount for lesser known characters.

The only thing Nintendo can do is pay retailers to stock more Amiibos.

Nintendo isn't stupid enough to destroy retailer relationships by selling directly online and it isn't worth all the taxes they'd have to pay to state governments.

um....the part about how Nintendo would need to make them more available was more of a sarcastic jab at the fact nobody can get any unless it's Mario or Pikachu. I still think I'm on to something with the game ideas....

Ooh! I got another game idea: an RPG where you play as your Mii, and every Amiibo could be used to unlock special equipment based on the character used like armor based on Bowser's spiky shell or a sword designed to look like the Monado or Mario's hat....

I think ANY amiibo focused game, right now, would probably bomb. Or at least just not do very well and end up being complained about a whole lot. Everyone knows the things are nigh-impossible to get (unless you go extra pricey and buy one online from who knows where). There's still interest, but from what I see, not as much as before. And as far as SELLING the accursed things, those doing that are way more obsessed with freaking Skylanders and.... Skylanders. Seriously, I'm so tired of those damn things. They make everything WAY more cramped at stores that sell them because holy crap, gotta have these giant freaking displays that take up huge amounts of space, since absolutely oblivious customers might not notice the GIANT FREAKING RACK (which is never set up very well) of figures! Ugh. And then everything that isnt Skylanders is smashed together stupidly in the remaining space.

Now, more Mii focused games on the other hand, might be received well? Alot of people seem to like that idea, or so I'm told anyway. I'm not aware of that many games that do that, not something I've looked into; mostly I'm just familiar with Tomodachi Life, which was quite good.

Yeah, It's basically just Tomodachi, the StreetPass Mii Plaza games, and Wii Sports/Play/Music/Party as far as Mii focused games go...

Well sarcastic joke is on you, Target is supposedly starting to move Amiibos out of their stores, forcing them to be sold exclusively on their site.

I'd be up for a full fledged Mii RPG with Amiibo functionality

Yeah, a buddy of mine works at a Target in Ohio and he pretty much confirmed they won't be getting any more in store. I think I hate Target now.....

Well no retailer wants a customer who buys just one item, in this case Amiibos.
They want customers who buy more than one thing.

One of the strangest things I saw yesterday was that some stores in Australia like Target, Big W, and Kmart, are selling Japanese Amiibo.

Also, apparently Nintendo just released a game on the Wii U e-shop that from scanning an Amiibo gives you a timed demo of a random NES or SNES game. You get three minutes, but you can also choose from several scenes to start from.

It's called Amiibo Tap, which provides a 3 minute demo per day based on the Amiibo you tap.

I hope they expand it at some point, I already own everything you can demo....

They probably will, but it's intended for people who have never played those games (which are the majority of the population).
