I'm sorry if this is a repost or otherwise beating a dead horse, but does anyone here play World of Warcraft?

I was pretty late getting into the game myself. I bought the original release, but I didn't really play much until Mists of Pandaria. I'm not the best player and there's more button mashing than I ever care to admit, so I still shy away from raid teams and such.

For the most part, I've been playing solo RP-PVE on Wyrmrest Accord. Is there anyone else here who is currently playing?

I was playing until a few months ago, but lack of time made me stop (at least for a while) since WoW drains too much of it and I barely have time for other games.
I might play it again soon (at least casually for some PvP), so if you want it I think my battletag is Jake#1556

I was really getting into the expansion when it launched, the first week or so, got 100 on multiple characters, then I hit a wall. I did pvp for awhile but got disgusted with my guild and didn't care enough to find another one because I wasn't having fun anyway so I quit. I really, really don't like the current pvp dev guy and won't consider coming back until he's fired or leaves, as extreme as that sounds. Ashran is horrible, or it was for me because I was horde.

Really, I don't think WoW is for me anymore. I started playing Ragnarok Online again and am having a much better time and because of the infrequency of major content patches I don't have to worry about waking up one day and having my favorite character suddenly useless! Hello warlocks.

I'm sure my post will draw ire from people, I'm sorry. I may just be burned out, in fact I am.

Although I still can have some fun if I play with some old friends I felt like this too when I stopped. Blizzard taking a whole season to fix CLEARLY broken stuff that is turning PvP into a nightmare (and every time that they fix one they create another 2 problems) is one of the worst things about WoW right now.

I've been around a long time and while I don't like to name drop devs and call for their heads, Holinka is doing a horrendous job. The worst part is that he refuses to acknowledge it and stuffs his head in the dirt like an ostrich. I'm not going to argue that its just his fault but this season is indeed a nightmare.

I don't know why its so hard for them to make certain skills work differently in pvp than pve?

Yeah Holinka looked quite decent when he entered but now everything seems worse than before.
They CAN make some spells work differently on PvP/PvE and even started doing it on MoP but I don't understand why they don't do it more frequently too.
I played mostly as Elem Shaman and since the beginning of this expansion the class is like one of the most boring things I've seen in this game (specially on a PvP perspective). I thought it was ok while I was leveling, and was even enjoying it (thinking things would be ok after I hit 100) but after I did and understood how stupidly designed the class mechanics was I started to have less and less fun.
And the worst is, from the very beginning of the beta phase there were veterans and experts players trying to warn blizzard about how bad the class was and, still, it took something like 2 months AFTER the release of the expansion and a dozen of threads of hundreds of elementals on their forums saying that they will cancel the subscription / level an alt to blizzard finally start to do some changes. But even after they did they simply started increasing our damage to make us feel ok... Like if the design of the class itself wasn't completely broken.
Combine this with the stupid amount of damage that some melee are putting right now (some of them literally killing you while pressing 3~4 keys incessantly until you're dead) that they somehow refuse to balance and yeah, we have a pretty bad state on the game.

I heard a rumor that one of the head devs that came during late MoP or right at WoD use to do balancing for Everquest. Supposedly he hates casters and prefers for melee to be OP, I wish I could remember his name.

I will say this though, before I quit I had a ton of fun pvping on my survival hunter but the class was crazy overpowered compared to every other caster. Moonkin were really good for awhile too, I basically had a survival hunter, moonkin, warlock and a paladin I never finished leveling. I hate DKs (well in WoW). Problem with hunter though is that every person and their grandma has one and my guild outright refused to let me do pvp night on him. That was like, the last straw for me, though I understood their reasoning.

At least when I play Ragnarok no one really gives me a hard time for playing a hunter/sniper (Soon to be ranger).

I actually really wanted to level up my elemental shaman, I have him stuck at 90. I enjoyed him in MoP but never made much progress gear wise. I became tempted to several times but everyone warned me not to and I listened. I don't care for enhance very much and healing makes me way too nervous.

I heard things like this rumour too and it makes some sense. Heck, now even health pools are different on PvP and PvE, why couldn't they take all those overpowered skills and do the same? I would resub instantly if they did something like this.
Agree with you about hunters and everyone on the game who do not play as one hate them too lol
Actually the way any less skilled player could trap me this expansion was one of the main reasons I quit. I couldn't stand anymore to have hunters CC'ing people easier than before (and one the biggest promises of blizzard for this expansion was to decrease amount of cc and make it not so easy to apply...) without barely having a effective way to counter.
As I said I might still go back to it, specially because I'll have a few months of waiting for the games that I'm excited about to come out, but it will be only to play with a few guild mates. Nothing serious with this game anymore.

No ire here! I've heard almost the exact same thing from a lot of people. I want to be at least a little optimistic about 6.2, but between Ashran and the overall lack of content in 6.1, I can't blame anyone for sitting things out/quitting. At least you're giving constructive criticism unlike some of the inane rants on Twitter. I'm probably not walking away from WoW all together, but I'm definitely thinking about reactivating my Eve Online account.

I'm playing Ragnarok Online right now as my mmo of choice but now and then I still get the WoW bug and consider resubbing but then tell myself I'd have to buy a new gaming mouse among other things I don't want to do right now. If I do come back I'll give you my bnet tag though.

Unfortunately, yes. $14.99 a month, although there now are ways in-game to get free subscription time. There's also a free trial up to level 20, if you join, let us know! I play pretty casually on both Horde and Alliance in the Wyrmrest Accord realm.
