I only got the Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat downloaded this Monday. A couple of days later something went wrong with my computer when I tried to upload photos from my camera with its USB hookup, my mother tried to fix it as best as she could, and things seem back to normal now, except I lost my data to the download. When I tried to access Granite Falls on the world screen I get a massage saying the world is not installed, Wait for the expansion pack to finish loading and then restart The Sims 4 to install it.

But I already own the expansion, and I had it installed, but don't any more because of my stupid computer. How do I reinstall it when I can't even find it anywhere in my programs? Do I have to uninstall the Sims 4 base game and lose everything else, too? Please help!

I"m assuming this isnt a physical copy?

If it's digital, you probably got it from Origin, which is.... the absolute single worst launcher I've ever seen, and one of the worst PROGRAMS I've ever seen. It's THAT bad. Expect things to not be... easy.

One huge tip with Origin: Back up your games like CRAZY. Over and over and over and over and over. Do it, or you might regret it. Do it FREQUENTLY.

In any case, you have to redownload the expansion from Origin itself. Yes, I mean redownload, not re-install. Origin is SO bad that it doesnt save installer files correctly. ALWAYS just redownload the entire thing from scratch.

It IS possible that you may have to uninstall, download, and then reinstall the base game as well. Theoretically, you should still be able to (maybe) pull your actual save file out, copy/paste it to somewhere else on your drive, and then stick it back in after the redo is finished. I cant guarantee this will actually work, but it might. It's worth a try.

If you DIDNT get it from Origin, let me know where you did get it from, and I might be able to help, though I cant guarantee it.

Yes, I was able to get the pack reinstalled and running again. But You're right, I should back up my games. Although I've personally never had a problem with the Origin launcher before, and I've owned The Sims 4 for almost a year. And I didn't have to uninstall my base game, which is on CD, and erase everything.
