Hi, I am new to Wrong Planet. This is my second post. I am curious to see if anyone plays dating sims here?

Recently, I have gotten into playing various dating sims on my smart phone (Android) and Otome games-games marketed to female audience. I wanted to see if anyone here plays dating sims, particularly otome games? Got any to recommend? I use a Macbook pro, so I am rather limited to my options in computer games in general.

I am a casual gamer, and have played various RPGs on different consoles in the past. Recently, I have gotten into a dress-up Otome phone game, and a handful of anime style dating sims.

Actually, as a side note it is unhealthy to stare at your phone screen for too long apparently, but the games I play are on my phone >,>; lol..

PMs are welcome btw.

I have not really got much experience in this myself, but I have recently become a fan of a YouTuber who does some really good plays of Dating Sims, especially Otome, and she does some pretty good and or entertaining voices for characters, PressHeartToContinue. From her playlist, and what I had heard as good before watching her play throughs of was of one called Hatoful Boyfriend, it is an otome game about dating pigeons. Sounds completely batty but it is delightfully entertaining and can be quite emotional. I first watched out of curiosity, but it is very interesting.

As for myself, I have been playing something called Katawa Shoujo, it might be more on the visual novel side as there are not stats but only a few choices every so often that branch off into the different routes. It is a male main character with heroines, but I think the focus makes it interesting, the main character heart complications and goes to a school for those who have disabilities, so the heroines have things like missing limbs, blind, death, and mental trauma. It is good for showing them as just people who overcome their disabilities, but still may have issues. A part I just read was of one character suffering a panic attack, and although likely not the same thing, I can connect it to a time I have had a panic attack from my own special needs. I guess a warning that there is a little nudity.

I am a little interested in it too, but I myself do not have gaming laptop, so I do not play a huge amount of computer games.

About the closest I have come is the original Harvest Moon game for the SNES. I don't remember if I was in middle school or high school at the time, but I had never had a girlfriend (just crushes), so I was -wayyyy- more into the dating aspect of it than any person should be @_@

After getting married, I kind of neglected my chickens, and I never even bothered getting any cows. We had two kids, the second one was just barely before the game ended :D

There are a lot of Otome games available for Android. You can find a list of many Otome games listed by genre and platform on English Otome Games. (Sorry, I cannot link url's as a new user.) Do you have a favorite dating sim?

Most of the Android games I have played so far are by the companies: arithmetic, Ambition Co. Ltd, and NTT Solmare Corporation's: Shall We Date?

OMG Hatoful Boyfriend yes! I played through once with my friend, that game was really amusing-plus super feels at some points! Oko-san (his human portrait is a pigeon xDD!) is hilarious. I have watched some Youtube videos where players play through games like: Hatoful Boyfriend, Oculus Rift horror, and Yandere Simulator. I know I watched something played by PressHeartToContinue at some point.

I'll check out Katawa Shoujo, it sounds pretty unique. I haven't played a lot of visual novels? Well, like where the characters are voiced and you see a scene played out rather than just talking to the person lol. I consider myself rather liberal, and don't really mind nudity in context-well at least in anime/cartoons.

I am figuring out this quoting thing..

I was the same way: I played Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town (Gameboy Advance) when I was younger. I recall I was really into Harvest Moon lol, and I played both the boy and girl versions. I only just got to the part where I had a kid in the male version. I can't remember who I married in the girl version, I might not have married. XD I was into farming and tried befriending everyone in town, including the sprites lol. I liked naming my animals, although I cannot remember any of their names..

I haven't gotten to that one yet. I'm trying to beat them in order right now (well, the portable ones at least). I'm on 2, almost at the end of it (halfway through Fall). I got pretty far in the first GBC one, but it's really boring so I quit and skipped to the next one.

2's pretty decent, but you can't get married. Looking forward to 3. And then of course FoMT, which is supposed to be the best in the series.
