A while ago I was thinking about Smash Bros. and a great idea just came to me.

Yeah ... I get it. The two recent Smash games are essentially the same game because you can use your 3DS and a controller. Was that necessary? How many people seriously use their 3DS as a controller like that?

The next Smash games should be completely different. There will be one on a home console and one on a handheld but they will be totally different games. The console version will bring back wavedashing and the game will be even more fast paced than Melee. The handheld will bring back The Subspace Emmisary and random tripping will be even slower than Smash 64. Both ends of the fanbase can be happy that way.

Hmm...that sounds interesting. What characters do you think will join or reappear?

Surprisingly, alot of people use the 3DS as a controller; is why they gave it the ability to do that.

Though I personally find it baffling; I found the game almost totally unplayable on that thing. The analog stick is.... one of the worst I've ever seen. And I dont like analog sticks to begin with. I havent touched the 3DS version a bit since the Wii U version comes out, and.... I actually could probably just delete it from the 3DS, as I doubt I'll ever go back to it on there now.

Not that any of it matters right now.... the next one is so fantastically far off that it may as well not exist at all. I'm just glad the current one came out as well as it did.

You lost me at "random tripping".....but yeah, I see the next games being less identical and more unique. I don't want another Subspace Emissary though, as much as I enjoyed it in Brawl...personally I'd rather see them make levels based on or even taken from familira Nintendo titles & settings and fill those levels with secrets based on the games their from and more importantly, enemies from Nintendo's history ( as opposed to the lame generic things from SSE... )

I also think they should make it so ONLY classic is required for any specific trophies, and on any difficulty. Collectibles should NOT be tied to bs challenges anymore, it's not fair to the average player.

One other thing I can see happening with the next game ( though it could happen sooner as DLC for Wii U & 3DS ) is ( in addition to the return of my beloved Ice Climbers ) the inclusion of a Skylander as a fighter, most likely Spyro ( though I would LOVE Stealth Elf ). The Amiibolanders with Superchargers is a huge deal for Nintendo, so I wouldn't be surprised if they added Spyro or whoever to Smash.

If you hadnt already heard it, annoyingly they already stated that the Ice Climber would very definitely not be coming back to this game. Because the 3DS would explode if it tried to do that (like, 3 or 4 players using them at once).

And yes, "3DS cant do it" is also their reasoning for not having them on the Wii U version. Sigh...

Otherwise I would certainly be hoping for them as DLC. But nooooooooooo....

Either way, I'd not expect the console/handheld versions to ever be unique from each other in the future; they just take WAY too long to make. And an extreme amount of effort. You'd end up with one of them (or both) being really half-assed, as is the way such things usually go.

Actually the next Smash Bros (along with Mario Kart and the rest) will be one developed game for their new OS and architect.
It will scale accordingly to the hardware.

Nintendo is hell bent on doing this due to all the resources it takes to develop to different version of the same game.

They day of distinct handheld and console counterparts for most Nintendo franchise are ending with Wii U and 3DS.
The majority of Nintendo's resources this gen has been spent on the above, stopping them from making more games.

Pikaman

I know that Pikaman was just created through hacking and I don't care. He is the best Nintendo character ever and needs to become are real Pokemon.

Probably a good thing indeed. I had found it bloody baffling that it had happened with Smash this time at all. I mean, the costs involved must have been tremendous...

Reasons Why Pikaman Needs to Be a Legit Character
1. He is Pikachu with Gannondorf's moveset.
2. HE IS PIKACHU WITH GANNONDORF'S MOVESET!
3. He uses thunderpunch.
4. He is the first electric/fighting type.
5. He dances!
