names of the madden nfl 10, 11, 12, 13 etc. video games?

anyone here who thinks the name "madden nfl 10" for instance sounds like it's the tenth game in the series?

They used to put an apostrophe before the number, as in Madden NFL '94, so it made more sense. Now they just assume you know that Madden NFL 17 means 2017 rather than the 17th game.

Things got really screwy when they called the 2014 edition Madden NFL 25. The 25 was a reference to the 25th anniversary of the series. Makes you wonder what they're going to call the 2025 edition...

I've gotten every Madden game since Madden 06, but I think I'm done with it. I liked to do normal exhibition games as every team and to play franchise modes, but now the game is all that stupid Ultimate Team thing and general online play, which I was never interested in. I tried Ultimate Team the first year it came out, and I didn't really like it. It just seemed like another way to get at your money. Also, you have to have PlayStation Plus to even play a franchise mode now, which makes me incredibly angry. I am so disappointed with what the series has become.

they used the full year in the titles of the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 editions. then they started using abbreviated years again for the 2006 version called madden nfl 06.
