anyone else think Saints Row could potentally kill off GTA?

I've been playing GTA 4 and found it disapointing, GTA SanAndreas was much better a game then GTA 4. but, Saints Row 2 was just slightly better then most GTA games.
now with Saints Row the third, It's such a great wild crazy fun game it kicks GTA down alot.

GTA 4 is far too realistc and lacks variety.
Saints Row The Third has alot more features and crazy vehicles, not to mention better music.
I really enjoyed Saints Row The Third so much I played it each day unitll I beat the campaign, and im still playing it.
I got bored of GTA 4 so I wont bother to beat that game yet.
now ive been trying to beat Saints Row 2, and it's keeping me interested alot more then GTA 4 did.

if you ask me, Saints Row has the power to kill off GTA if they ever make Saints Row 4.

I like GTA don't get me wrong, but GTA 4 just seemed really clunky with how you controlled the char/cars and I just couldn't get past how awkward it felt. SR3 was just pure awesome I played that and it was just FUN and it's rare to get that feeling in a game for me. With that said I don't think it will usurp GTA as a series.

You can feel the difference in quality immediately. GTA is a superior game in every way. Its presentation, the sheer scope and ambition of its developers, the game's visual fidelity, audio, the Euphoria engine etc. In GTA you feel you're in a living, emergent, breathing, functioning city. Saints Row just seems like a puerile mess, to me.

I can't say anything about SR3 without having played it, but I enjoyed SR2 well enough. It almost feels like they took inspiration from San Andreas specifically in a lot of ways. That said, it seems Rockstar has intentionally gone in a different direction since then with GTA4. Not everyone has to like that they want to go a more serious route, but to say that one is better than the other based on whether it's insanely humorous or has a more reserved satire is a bit stupid. I find it a bit more fair to judge based on gameplay features rather than aesthetics. There's plenty of room for both series.

What I've found with GTA IV was that they went a bit over the top.
It's not a bad game, but it's just too dark and decayed. The most sunny weather consists of a vaguely-blue sky and no rain, there's a ridiculous amount of homeless people wandering about with pans on their heads and cardboard signs, and half of the neighbourhoods just seem to consist of ruins and closed stores, with the other half being office space. What I also missed was highways, which I would have liked in a game with such vastly-different car handling.
Sometimes, it does feel like I'm in Gotham rather than Liberty City.

I'm waiting for GTA V. The trailer looked interesting, but that's what trailers are for.
Never actually tried a Saints Row game.

If you do play a saints row game, play Saints Row 2, Saints Row 1 and 2 are fairly decent games, Saints Row 3 is above average but not great, they are probably worth renting if you aren't a fan on the series.

Do they compare to Grand Theft Auto in terms of production values, graphics, physics, voice acting, dialogue, story, map design, character development? Not at all but they are still fun games.

If you compare what the two rip off from, you can get a general idea of the story.

GTA IV ripped : The Boondock Saints, Goodfellas, Heat, Snatch.

Saints Row 3 ripped : Tron, Star Wars, World Wrestling Federation, Top Gun, a 50 cent music video. Oh yes and the main villian in Saints Row 3 is the general from Avatar.

Saints Row 3 is the result of giving a 13 year old a pen and paper and asking them what they want in a game.

The intro to the TV show Luck actually rips off the into to GTA4, so there's a turnaround.

Don't get me started on Saints Row  except to say I suspect you need to be 13 or American to "enjoy " this game All I'll add is this , with this game it's so blatantly obvious it was designed by a committee who's only understanding of *gangster* was by some white dudes watching some homie videos on MTV (in the boardroom of cause)

This game exemplifies everything that is wrong with gaming today, if you want a mindless sandbox just play Just Cause 2 a *proper* sandbox.

*End of highly edited rant*

PS I'll bet money on it that R* will redeem themselves with V , they manged to with the episodes, so yeah I'm kind of neutral on iv.

Saint's Row isn't trying to be realistic in any way shape or form. Its take on 'gangster' is a joke for a reason, it doesn't take itself seriously. Its entire goal is to be an over the top parody of gangsta culture and with the third one, ridiculous action movies as well.

GTA IV decided to go for this grimdark attempt at a realistic gangster game, and completely lost the soul of the series in the process. It also had some really annoying things, like your cousin Roman always calling to go bowling. The previous GTA games, were actually somewhat in between GTA IV and Saint's Row 2 in style. An equal balance of story and humor. They lost that completely when they made GTA IV and I hope they redeem themselves with V.

For everyone complaining about Saint's Row being juvenile and praising GTA, seems to forget which series first lest you use a dildo as a weapon.

^^^|

You sort of missed the point I agree it was a a parody though it was badly executed , they need to better understand the subject to get it *right* If you want it done right just look to games like Binary Domain or Duke Nukem ......

Sorry this has to be one of the worst games I've ever try to play far worse than ho hum games like COD (at least I can understand why it's popular) with SR I'm dumbfounded . :?

there is a number you can ring on your phone that changes the weather to the weather you like.
the number is 4685550100.
one of the weather settings is more bright and vivid than any of the natural game weather.
here is an example of the natural weather.

i can not post the second image i want to because i get the "smiley's data" message
