Hello, hello! Have you guys heard about Star Fox Zero? It's a new game coming out for the Wii U in 2016!! As I said in my intro thread I am OBSESSED with Star Fox! And the SF franchise hasn't had a new game that isn't a flipping remake in almost a decade!! (Well, I guess Zero does take place in the 64 time period, but it has plenty of new features such as the walker transformation, besides, it hasn't even been released yet)!
I would post a link to a video, but I guess you can't post urls as a new user... ...Bleh! Oh well!

"Shigeru Miyamoto has stated the game is neither a prequel nor a strict remake of the first game, while Nintendo of America has stated it is neither a sequel or a prequel to the series"
I hate this kinda crap, they said the same thing about the new Doom. Its like, it isn't a reboot, it isn't a remake, it isn't a prequel , and it isn't a sequel. Well than what the hell is it? I can't stand this bull crap style of marketing, its just them wanting to experiment with franchises without taking on a risk. Cause if is flops than suddenly its not canon, if it does well boom, its an official sequel. Am I the only one that sees through this crap?
Anyway on topic, Star Fox Assault was the last game I played, I want say they made one after that but I don't know. I like the series but it could have been handled better in my opinion, its like a series they don't know what to do with. I liked Star Fox Adventures but it broke the formula to much and became The Legend of Star Fox Ocarina of Time. I also have a hard time playing the SNES versions cause of sensory issues, the frame rate is very low due to the use of 3D polygons that stressed the Super FX specs.

It's technically a reboot.
Star Fox Zero starts a new line of Star Fox games with no connection to the previous games, disregarding everything in the original Star Fox universe.
Star Fox Zero is a new universe going forward if the game sells enough.
If the game tanks there is a good chance Star Fox is dead!
The current Star Fox games are:
Star Fox (SNES): It was a love/hate game, those who loved it loved it. Those who hated it, hated it for the animal characters. Sold ~2M+ worldwide
Star Fox 64 (N64): it was a remake of the original and mainly sold due to it being bundled with the Rumble Pak for $50.
It has a Metacritic score of 88 (highest rated game in the franchise) and also is the highest selling game thanks to it being the first game to use and come with a Rumble Pak. It was the best selling game at ~4M+
Star Fox Adventure (GCN): It was polarizing for being a "boring" Zelda clone. It struggled to break 1M worldwide. (I grew bored of it).
Star Fox Assault (GCN): It again was polarizing game, over what Star Fox is to people I personally enjoyed the game.
It too struggled to break 1M worldwide.
Star Fox Command (DS) It was a fun arcady game with a really hilarious branching Story Line, that put a lot o people off.
the game bombed in sales
Star Fox 64 3D (3DS) it was full fledge 3D remake of the Nintendo 64 game. The game did worse than the DS game.
Essentially each Star Fox game after 64, has sold less than the previous game.
Can Star Fox Zero save the series.... Who knows?
