I want to play star citizen when it comes out but I have a bad sense of direction. I've seen star citizen videos raiding enemy bases and walking around a complicated city.

My dad says he was the same before he drove a car, I'm working on my license. I want to play its just I would find it confusing.

Games like this usually have a minimap/radar/compass/waypoint system in place to at least get you back to important points (like where you parked your ship), if not, there will be fast-travel of some description to serve the same purpose.

Games which incorporate an exploration component always make sure you can find your way back, unless finding your way back is explicitly the objective (like in mazes and the like)

in short: dont worry about your sense of direction; the game will take care of that for you.

Don't play Star Citizen. It's broken, it sucks, it's boring. You don't want a game that's been in Alpha for four years. That's lazy half assed development if I've ever seen it. If you want a nice fun open world game get your hands on GTA 5. The map is phenomenal and you are never confused about where to go. It's very long and very fun.

Yeah, I'm gonna sorta echo what Mistersprinkles said.

That game has a TON of problems, but it's not just that... the DEVELOPER has a ton of problems. It took me awhile to learn all about it, and it was a long read through multiple articles, so I'm not going to go into all of that here (seriously, it's a long story), but that game may never actually be FINISHED (they may even run into legal problems, which could get all sorts of nasty). There's problems popping up for the devs left and right, and on top of that, there's been iffy practices from them the entire time. Like those demented prices they were charging for virtual ships in an UNFINISHED GAME. Did you SEE some of those prices? Ridiculous! When a developer tries to pull that sort of crap, that's a major red flag to begin with. A warning sign.

And that's just the start.

If you want a good game full of ships and space combat and all of that.... look up Elite: Dangerous instead. That game is already out and already proven to be very good. Fantastic, even.
