After an intriguing opinion put about by Berserker, I decided to put this to the test.

I have decided to put a vote as to what Final Fantasy game people consider the worst. I would also ask that people restrain their opinions to games they've actually played and made an effort to finish, even if they haven't finished it.

Tough choice. I didn't like X-2 much, but I wouldn't call it the worst FF game ever. FF1 was lame, but that's because it's old. FFTA was boring at the start, with all the talking.

I honestly can't decide!

most NT will say FF8 because it's "a teenybopper sissy love story" and it came out after the overhyped FF7.

if i judge all of them right now i would say FF1 but it's harsh because when it came out, that kind of RPG was the standard of its days.

FF11 has a great story but it's not a great MMORPG because it just takes too long to level up.

i have to say FF2 because of its weird way of building up your character.

FF1. Sure, it owns Dragon Warrior, but this doesn't change the fact that by today's standards, the story is nonexistent. Second place would be FF2 for the leveling system. Third place is FF7 for being overhyped, generally boring (aside from the story), and aesthetically lacking. Fourth is X-2 for the battle system and the Garment Grid.

That was one of my criticisms of FFII. That, and it is actually fairly hard by many standards of FF today, and needs a lot of grinding.

FFX-2 I actually enjoyed, especially because Square-Enix did a brave thing, making a sequel.

FF III because the story is boring compared to the others.

For me it's FFVII.

Reason being that Squaresoft sold out to Sony and tried way too hard to make the FF series appeal to the mainstream crowd.

I'm not going to go into all the details, because the old school FF fans already know exactly what I'm talking about, and no explanation is needed.

I mean no disrespect to FFVII fans, but we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. Perhaps it's more the mark of a generation gap than anything else.

Huzzah! VIII finally gets some respect :P

I went for XII. I'm pretty sure that NOBODY will agree, but... it's the one final fantasy game that I actually got bored of and stopped playing.

I voted XII. I know I'll get flamed for this, but XII sucked.

I can't decide :?

I haven't played FFVII, FFIX, FFXI, Dirge of Cerberus and Crystal Chronicles yet.

FFX-2 is good, nevertheless it seems like a cosplay game. FFII has a weird leveling system, but I don't think it's the worst game of the series. Althought FFI doesn't have storyline, I enjoyed playing the game.

I play FF and other RPGs since 2000, maybe I'm not an old FF fan (Although I love FFIV and FFVI, FFVIII was my first played game of the series), but I have an idea about what you are talking about. Almost every NT gamer I know think FFVII is the best FF game and they haven't played the games before VII.

Yeah, VI is much better than VII.

I think X myself. I got sick of that one pretty quickly.

I've tried to play a lot of the older ones before VII, but Emulations don't exactly give you the full experience of a game I don't think.

I loved VII and VIII. IX was also okay.

Those are my three favourites.

And III (what I played of it) seems like a lot of fun.
