Can you think of games, probably RTS, that include building walls and generally give you the option to play really defensively? This appeals to me a lot for some reason, but I haven't played RTS games in years. I like the idea of walling up a base and seeing how long I can survive.
All I can think of are:
Age of Empires and
C&C Red Alert.
Any suggestions?

I knew I was gonna see a post about Trump on a topic that has nothing to do with him.

In Civilization the wall is one of the most important buildings, it gives a huge defensive boost to your city. And Civilization Revolution used to be my favorite game ever, and it's definitely one of the best turn based strategy games out there. At that same time Red Alert 3 was out and is one of the best real time strategy games out there. Loved both.

Are you familiar with the Tower Defense genre?

Maybe that is for you.

Oh, man. What was I thinking? I even had Stronghold in my library already! I suppose the clue was in the name.

I've tried a couple of pretty basic tower defense games in the past, I'll have a closer look, thanks Drake.

modernmax, I've somehow managed never to play a Civilization game, even though I've been aware of them from the beginning. I have a feeling I might like them. I'll consider that, too.

:D I hadn't considered the Trump connection, but maybe that's a worse sign: perhaps I've been successfully programmed to feel a positive response to walls in general.
