me and my best friend used to play the original game 24/7. he really started annoying me with it after a while and we took a break from it, but of course went back. it was all about creative race tracks, never about bettering one another's record. We'd often take turns, designing a section each and making improvements. None of the sequels compare IMO. They may look nice, but somehow just don't have the same appeal. I am hoping for GOG (failing that, Steam) to pick it up at some point in the future, as my (actually my brother's but he never wanted it back) disc is pretty much toast thanks to my former lack of disc care.
