So, I've just received a promotional e-mail saying that Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void, the second expansion to Starcraft 2, is being released on 10 November. Here's the intro cinematic to the game:

Anyone planning on getting it?

I'd take an interest if the game wasnt such a click-fest. I like the IDEAS behind the game, but I dont like the execution very much.

I"ve played SC2 before, and I mostly just found it bloody impossible to learn. It felt like I was learning Dwarf Fortress all over again. Except with absurd amounts of clicking added into it.

Note that I mostly mean the multiplayer... the story stuff I honestly never cared about much, which is my usual approach to basically every game ever. Too many talky bits and I just dont give a damn, really...

I play it mostly for the campaign and the story actually. The single player experience is supposed to be different from the multiplayer with many varied missions and you get units that aren't in the multiplayer for balance purposes. While I'd like to do multiplayer as well, I haven't had much time for it. Yes, multiplayer is a steep learning curve, though I've already had some experience with it from when I played Starcraft 1 and Broodwar many years ago in the '90's.

Here's another video about the Protoss wanting to reclaim Aiur in the new expansion. I'm not sure whether it's supposed to be another trailer but it is lore heavy:

i'm looking forward to it. even though this is for the protoss... i'm hoping that since Kerrigan is pretty much the heart of the prophecy...that she'll be in it quite a lot...

She probably will be in it. I've been waiting 17 years for game where the Protoss take back their homeward and it's here. The Legacy of the Void will be the completion of the story arc that started with the original Starcraft 1, though I'm expecting that they won't resolve the long-standing question about the UED from Broodwar, unfortunately.

Yeah it is a bit of a click fest, but doesn't necessarily have to be. You can make the controls easier with "the core" app, and also create a macro for an instant attack key. Some pro players do a lot of clicking, but its not really necessary, more of a reaction time imo. Anyway I play less now because 1v1 takes forever, and team games are unbalanced because of premade teams, just play those for fun now. Archon mode should be fun to try though.

Intro: 4 gate op

I can't wait to see how they wrap this up.

Found out. I say they warped this up nicely. An actual ending.

Did you like it? I heard that a lot of people didn't like the ending. I don't want any spoilers though because I haven't finished it yet. I've only played the prologue and got up to the Spear of Adun mission (the third mission at the beginning of the main story) but haven't finished that mission. I haven't had time to play further than that yet because I'm busy with work and other personal nonsense going on in my life at the moment. I'm sad that Zeratul died though.

I know, but I am satisfied with it. So, I like the ending.
