have u ever loved a game but didn't finish it because it makes u feel dizzy and sick?

Sonic Adventure 2.

There are other games that make me motion sick, but I've beaten them all already. But there are some that I'd like to get back into, if I can ween myself into it (which takes a while).

Yes, I get motion sickness with first person games. Lots of fps I'd love to play but I can't handle it. Five minutes in and I feel sick for the rest of the afternoon. I read that if you keep your monitor/t.v. far enough away that you can see your living space/room in your peripheral view it will make you less sick. But never worked for me. I did find one first person game that didn't make me sick but I've noticed once I stopped playing it for awhile I feel dreadful again.

Mostly the Popular FPS games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. Sometimes I can't play more anymore than 20 minutes without feeling Dizzy and Barffy

Sadly yes. I remember when my son were wee little children (< 4) and after I would put them to bed, I would play Blake Stone. I loved playing that game. It was the first game like it that I ever played. Then out of no where I started getting motion sick. Just looking at the screen for a few minutes would make me sick.

No but I do feel queasy sometimes when falling or going downhill fast. You could try a motion sickness medication if you really wanted to finish the game.

Oh yeah. I can't quite figure out what it is, but those older FPS do it to me a lot harder than the newer ones. Wolf 3D did it to me first, then I moved onto Quake, and DOOM started doing it, and then Jedi Knight. Nowadays, even Quake will do it to me, but I haven't noticed it with anything newer than that.

I wonder if the weapon/camera bobbing has anything to do with it, or the FOV, or the FPS, or maybe some sort of combination.

But none of that really explains why SA2 affects me.

This usually happens when in 3rd person and making alot of turns. If you switch to first person it wont happen.

I play a lot of Elite Dangerous in VR but the most recent patch added planetary landings. Driving on some planets is extremely nauseating and one play session made me have to lie down for at least an hour whilst fighting the urge to vomit.

Half Life 2 was even worse. I can't play that for more than about half an hour without getting nauseated.

Another thing that I noticed that can make me nauseous is the lack of certain animations. Even in third person games (which are the best for me) I can get ill. I notice that if the character does not have a left and right turn animation it makes me ill. To explain it easier: If I use the WASD or arrow keys just to turn my character in 180 or 360 and they have the turn animations that's fine. If I have to use my keyboard and mouse to turn and/or my character kind of just strafes it makes me ill.

I get motion sickness if I have to drive in first person.

ESO in a crowded dungeon with a bunch of enemies on screen and other players.
