So I've been playing league of legends with a regular mouse pad on a flat desk and lately have been noticing wrist pain. So was wondering if anyone else has had that and what sort of solutions work. Thinking of maybe getting a gaming wrist brace thus far but not sure how effective they are.

Wondering if your desk and chair are at the proper height and distance to reduce strain on the hand and wrist?

Unfortunately, I think with repetitive movements like that there is always going to be a risk for injury. When I was young I played console games and PC games quite a bit, and the only time I would have pain was from my tightly gripping the controllers, never from a mouse.

With my illness now, I very easily get pain from such things, and all that works is taking a break and allowing my body to rest and heal.

Get a wrist immobilizer. I found one on Amazon.. It's not going to feel the same, but that's why your wrist is numb and hurts - because it's not in its natural position.

Knitting caused my problem.

I got a wrist rest a long time ago, one of these: http://www.brownmed.com/product/imak-er ... for-mouse/

It's filled with beads, so it's easy to wash, and stays cool in the Summer. It's also fun to play with.

I also use a trackball mouse now. I assume that's a lot easier on the wrist than a real mouse, but that's not why I use one, I just think they're kind of cool.

I'd have it looked at if I were you. Just immobilizing it or whatever is not necessarily going to do... anything whatsoever. I have a similar problem, but something like that has no effect whatsoever.

It's not just the wrist motion that can get you; it's the non-stop clicking (something that designers of these games NEVER think of, sigh...).

Really, get it checked out, because you might regret it later if you dont. In my case, I went through a period of about a YEAR where I could not use the mouse for gaming. It just hurt too much. Like WAY too much. I'd have days where I couldnt use it at all. To play something like Minecraft then, I had to set up the controller to EMULATE the mouse; I've been using that for so long now that it's the only way I play many games, even though I can use the mouse better at this point.

Needless to say, none of that is fun. It really is best to get it checked out sooner rather than later, and instead of just going offa recommendations you get from people. Tendon and/or nerve issues are nothing to sneeze at.

Carpal tunnel can be nasty, you should see the butchery of a surgery they did to my mother's wrists over it. My grandfather had it bad too so I am guessing it might be genetic or something or maybe everybody gets it I dunno.

Whenever I get wrist pain I just stop and do something else, it's the repetitive movements so I assume something else is what is needed to ward it off.

I've been using a laptop for years now with a trackpad and I feel like it is better for my wrists than using a mouse, don't remember the last time they hurt. Probably need a mouse to play a lot of games tho I would guess.

Only time my hands hurt now is when I'm physically writing, it always has and I dunno who. Like my hand cramps up, it's weird but I assume it's some nerve thing or something I dunno.

It really only hurts after I've had my wrist on the hard desk a while but stops if I take a break, and i dont play everyday. So probably don't need to go to a doctor yet but if it persists even with cushining or some sort of wrist brace I will go that route.
