I used to be heavy into fighting games, I have gotten out of practice and am not as good as I used to be.
My games were:
Street fighter 2 turbo snes When I was a kid I was awesome at this game with ryu.
Mortal combat 1 and 2 snes Same as above, I knew some nasty sub zero and jonny cage tricks I had all moves and fatalities memorized. In mortal combat 1 there is a cool trick for snes. Sub zeros ice blast does a little damge so it can knock out a character with low enough health. If you do this on round 2 and perform his fatality while they are still frozen it will work like normal, but then seconds later they will reapear out of thin air and resume fighting stance during the victory pose.
Games for ps1, street fighter alpha series, street fighter alpha 2 gold is my favorite of the alpha set my characters were Ryu, sakura, guy, and feilong and dhalsim, I was also awesome with Dan in alpha 2, yes Dan.
tekken series my characters were mainly Heihachi and King whom I could do all of his attacks even his most advanced grapple combos, and lei wulong, and ling xaiyou in tekken 3.
And soul Blade. There was about a 2 year period where I played nothing but this game. I would have to say this ranks up there as one of my most favorite games (all genres) of all time! I liked Rock the most, I also was very good with Taki, and the numchuck guy whos name escapes me.
Games for ps2 that I still play sometimes:
Mortal combat deception, I played this for a while and cleared the krypt. I haven't put too much time into it beyond that, baraka and scorpian are my faves.
Virtua fighter 4, this game is awesome, I haven't gotten around to putting the time into this as I would have when I was younger, I got pretty good with Wolf, and Kage during the time I played it.
Capcom versus Snk. Probably the one I have put the most time into during my ps2 days. Ryu is my standard character, followed by Ryo from snk who is pretty cool.
I realize that soul calibre games are omited, I haven't played any of them. As foolish as that seems given that Soul Blade is one of my all time favorites, I kind of shifted mainly to rpgs after I played FF7 so that is where most of my game time goes. Rpgs make your fighting game reflexes and skills stagnate, whither, and die.
