I once read about someone who programmed his oscilloscope to play Quake. Also, I think someone made a parody of World of Warcraft in the style of Game & Watch.
Maybe I should have originally mentioned that I'm only discussing fan-made games, like... Grand Theft Auto on the NES Resident Evil on the NES Super Smash Bros. on the Game Boy Guitar Hero on the NES Silent Hill on the NES Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball on the ZX Spectrum The Sims on the NES Hatred on the Atari 2600 Flappy Bird on the Atari 2600 God of War on the Game & Watch Halo on the Game Boy
Angry Birds for the Atari 2600, Commodore 64, NES Final Fantasy VII for the NES Mario Kart for the Atari 2600 Metroid for the Atari 2600 Plants vs. Zombies for the NES Sonic the Hedgehog for the Commodore 64
