Who would win a race between Captain Falcon and Sonic

I was wondering, since both F-Zero and Sonic the Hedgehog are some of the fastest games ever created, who would win a race between Captain Falcon and Sonic. For me, I reckon Sonic would win, because he could attack Captain Falcon's ship, doing damage to it. But it would still be a close call

well i dont no much about captain falcon, but all i no is that sonic hasn't had a decent game since Sonic Adventure 2 Battle!

Sonic the Hedgehog has been my hero for 11 years, and I'll back him to the bitter end!

(In commentator style) And so Sonic takes the inside lane and is miles ahead of Captain Falcon. His fan support gives him the strenght to outrun Captain Falcon in his Blue Falcon. This is one fast race.

So at the moment Sonic is winning, which obviously means people prefer Sonic over F-Zero. Incidently, did you know that the graphic engine for F-Zero GX was used for Sonic and the Secret Rings? (Except the one in SATSR is more advanced) Similarities, they both look amazingly good, even when you're travelling at the speed of sound.

(In commentator style) So after one lap Sonic is in the lead while Captain Falcon hasn't even left the start line.
