This thread is created at behest of the Staff and user(s) who were unhappy with multiple Nintendo based news threads on the forum.

This thread will replace all Nintendo "News" threads.

This includes game announcements, system announcements, Amiibos, Pokemon, DLC, price cuts, etc... or essentially anything can be deemed and/or "mistaken" as Nintendo news

This is ordered by Staff to "clean up" this board, due to user(s) complaints.

My Nintendo Rewards is the globally successor to Club Nintendo, though each program is operated regionally.
You get 120 Platinum Coins a week just for accessing it, Miiverse and the eShop and logging in through Nintendo.com
You also get 30 Platinum Coins for opting into Nintendo weekly newsletters and then 10 coins a month afterwards.
You also can earn up to 40 Platinum Coins a day by using Miitomo (smartphone App).

Nintendo's future apps and eventually NX games will use Platinum Coins for achievements.
Also physical games should be included along with attending theme parks.

Gold Coins are obtained by making digital purchases to a tune of $1 = 1 Gold Coin ($5 minimum purchasing price).

You redeem the coins for digital goods and discounts.
Coins are good for 6 month, then expire.

It's free to sign up and use.

As for news

Nintendo has debuted a new slogan starting with 2DS price cut to $80 (comes bundled with Mario Kart 7) which goes into effect in NA on May 20th

It's so far been received mixed by gamers, but does have 2017 copyright on the commercial.

Pokemon Company and Game Freak unveiled the new starters for Sun and Moon, the boxarts and breifly legendaries.

Personally I'm leaning to Rowlett

Also Corocoro says they will have the full scoop on Sun and Moon in next month edition (they always get first scoop).

In Amiibo News



The Squid Sisters from Splatoon will launch as a bundle on July 8th in NA and EU for $24.99/€24.99

They add new songs and performances to Splatoon.
You can also view and play any song and performance as long as you have their Amiibos scanned in.

These 3 Amiibos will be launching on the same day.
If you want the Orange Squid, you have to buy it in the 3 pack for $34.99/€34.99
The new inkling boy and girl will be sold individually for $14.99/€14.99

I am not sure if we're allowed to reply in this because you didn't say anything about this is for news only from Nintendo and that you don't want any comments.

I only get 90 points from the sign in weekly for eshop, My Nintendo, and Miiverse. Where do I get the rest of the 30 points?

Did they change it to now that no matter what game I buy in the eshop, I will still get a gold point instead of having to buy a game that is $5.99 or more? Edit: I just noticed they lowered the minimum limit to $5.00. Now I wish the rest of the $4.99 games I have on my wishlist would all be a cent more.

So far I have up to 40 gold coins and before they expire I might use them to get a game got my son if the My Rewards have any and he loves Mario. If there aren't any good games by the time they are about to expire, I might just do a game giveaway so my coins don't go to waste. It sucks how they have to expire unless they change that soon.

If you have enough Platinum Coins, I suggest you get the 15% discount for Super Mario Galaxy 2 if you don't already own it.
It's a good meaty Mario game that will keep him busy for at least 20 hours or more.

This is decent Mario 3DS Theme exclusive to the program, it costs only 200 Platinum Coins.
Coins are good for 6 months.

Nintendo just announced last night they plan to complete their next full feature film within the next 2-3 years.

If it's anything like the Pikmin 3 and Star Fox 0 shorts, then it should be really good.

This is all part of their expansion plans that are centered around their gaming brands.

What do you have on the NX?

I have keep mostly up to date with it and I am considering buy one for the new HD Zelda. I might also not give a damn cause I have tons of games to play on PC but in the event that I get a lot of savings and am just in a F it all mood anyway, it would be nice to know exactly what I am getting into. I also have a really crappy TV so I don't even know that the NX would work with my stuff. Still new Zelda interests me and I wouldn't mind getting into other Nintendo stuff. Zelda is why I had my parents buy me an N64 and Gameboy as a child. Zelda is dope. I really wish Metroid would release something going back its roots, think about how awesome a HD Super Metroid would look.

Nintendo plans to unveil it later this year and a full global launch in March.

Zelda Team has promised to do a complete paradigm shift with the new Zelda, completely abandoning the existing 3D Zelda Template.
They also promised to take Zelda back to it's open world roots.

They are doing this after all the complaints they've received about the last 4 3D Zelda games being too rehashy, stale, and linear.
They've stated they have taken all the criticisms to heart about 3D Zelda.

They have promised to make the new Zelda the basis for all 3D Zelda going forward.

With that said it's is rumored that you get to pick the sex of Link or Link is a girl this time around.
There is also rumors of the new Zelda being more cinematic and story driven.
Lastly it is rumored that the new Zelda is female friendly, lacking the sexism of the previous games.

Nintendo is going to fully unveil the game at this years E3 in 1 month's time (or a tad less) and it is the only game they are demoing.
It's the Wii U version though.

New Zelda launches along side NX in March 2017 on both NX and Wii U.

As for Metroid don't expect a full blown game anytime soon, because Metroid games tend to sell horribly as in they struggle normally to sell 1 million globally.


With that said as long as your monitor has HDMI ports, you can run any HD console on it.

It will be part as the physical release on June 17th.

Nintendo's new article of incorporation is up.
Goes into effect at the next general shareholder meeting on June 29th.

I hope Nintendo does a good job with the NX. I miss owning a Nintendo console. I owned a NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube and had a Wii for a little while. Once I realized the Wii wasn't getting any more games I was interested (early 2007) I traded it for a PS3 and I've never owned a Wii U. They just haven't had enough games that appeal to me outside of Zelda.

Then you're going to be horrible disappointed with NX.
NX will likely just be Nintendo games and Asian 3rd party support.

If you want Western games and Konami games, you will have to go somewhere else.

Such a pity you are missing out on Splatoon.

They are still making games.

Though their bulk of their revenue and profits come from non gaming activities.

Rumors are swirling that Nintendo has pulled out of GDC 2017...
Granted GDC 2017 doesn't start until the end of next February and the full floor plans wont be revealed until closer to the date.

Though to be fair, the majority of people skipped their booths each year for the competition.
