I have a week or two until Uni starts again I wonder if there's a good game I could play in the meanwhile to pass time... I don't have a gaming PC and I can run none of today's games. However I am a fan of older games, classic arcade shooters like serious sam are awesome, DOOM 1 and DOOM II, GTA series, Prey, Quake Series, Halo combat evolved was another favorite. I wonder if there's something good I could DL .... all the above I already played so many times, so I'd prefer obviously something else... from those years 2005-2012 (I fear that anything came out afterwards won't fit my laptop

Hit me up with anything!!

Have you ever tried Hexen? Bloody excellent Doom-style FPS game, that one. Though alot more elaborate. It came out not all that long after Doom initially hit. So it's from that era, but the engine is more advanced and can do things that Doom could not.

Other than that, hmm... I have nothing else beyond that outside of indie games. Nobody else makes shooters like those anymore.

If you enjoyed GTAs 3 and later, you might like Sniper Elite 1. From 2005, it has some good semi-open levels, with objectives sometimes achievable in more than one way. The AI can be challenging on the higher difficulties, too.
