Up to you. I didn't really care for either game, particularly Oblivion. But they're positively regarded in general.

Just keep in mind that both of those games are pretty darned old at this point.

If you're expecting some massive graphical upgrade simply because they're on a new console, well.... dont. Also dont expect them to be less of a buggy mess.

Other than that, yeah... I didnt like either of them myself. Got bored with both super fast. I'll never really understand why people like Bethesda's games. But to be fair, I dont really touch AAA games at all, so it's not like my lack of enjoyment of those two games came as a surprise.

All my friends sure seem to love them though.

Yeah I know, but I'm ok with old graphics. Old graphics never bother me.

And yeah I know they're a buggy mess but I like the concept of having a whole open world to explore and creating any kind of chatacter I want. :)

Why not spend a quarter of the money and get a ps3 or 360 to play those games among other games

The games aren't bad if you mod them, but you need to be on PC for that. I remember Oblivion's levelling system by default was pretty goddamn stupid, but you could fix it with mods. Otherwise you might be stuck having to jump on bookcases hitting your head on the roof repeatedly before going to sleep to get stronger.

Yeah, that does bring up the question: Why not just get the PC versions and run them on the machine you're already using?

And yes, PC games like those support controllers, if you want to use those. You just need the right drivers and such (which I can actually give you info about, if needed). Xbox controllers are the easiest to use, since it's Microsoft and all. I personally use a PS4 controller, it was pretty darn easy to set up.

Though obviously any first-person game is best done with a mouse/keyboard. But some players just dont like that.

And PC versions of both games support mods. As was said just above me, the games are VASTLY improved with those. Bethesda by itself is... a pretty bad developer, honestly. How they even managed to get to where they are is utterly beyond my comprehension. Since they're a bunch of useless twits, they generally just let the modders fix damn near all of the problems in the game, from technical issues to balance & content stuff. Consoles though cant do any of that.
